Valentine Day Shave:
Merkur Progress w/ New Wilkinson Sword blade
Shavemac Custom Silvertip
Trumper's Sandalwood cream
Italian Floid a/s splash
Gucci Envy edt (sample)
Not the best shave as the blade was very rough...threw it in the trash bin after the shave. I love the smell of Trumper Sandalwood.
Have a great day. Happy Valentine's Day to all the ladies in your lives.

SOTN Tuesday:
Arko soap with Tweezerman brush
GEM Featherlight with new Ted Pella blade (thank you Cigar Dan) - 4 passes
Since this was my first try with the GEM, I went with my safety soap rather than continuing my SCS experiments. The GEM is certainly a very different animal than either a Gillette or a Schick! I'm not sure how well I like it. We'll see how things go as I continue to work with it. The shave is not what I'd call close, but is uniformly stubbly over my whole face, which at least means I'm consistent, right?
I wonder if I'd do better with a Micromatic. I'm concerned that the safety bar is keeping the blade from getting close enough to my skin. Using a toothed razor might alleviate that. I don't plan to be hasty, though.

Hump day:
Vulfix 2233
Mitchell's Wool Fat
'58 Super Speed
Derby blade (shave #3)
Witch hazel
SCS Aged Leather AS milk
I have a persistent spot on my neck which I keep irritating just when I think it's finally going to heal. It's a spot that is hard to get the right angle on and I thought I had finally figured it out. I drew some more blood today, so I guess I still haven't got it.

Thursday :
- Merkur HD w/Feather blade
- Omega (Target) boar brush
- SCS New Spice soap
- Corn Huskers Lotion
Icy roads meant a one-hour delay this morning, so SWMBO cracked one eye and ordered me to the unusual role of first into the bathroom. No time for coffee before I showered (I think I got everything) and then shaved.
This is the first time I have used SCS soap [thanks, Shawn!]; I made sure to leave a few drops of water atop the puck while I showered to make lathering easier. (Good tip -- thanks to whoever mentioned it.) I liked the smell...did I find a hint of chocolate in there or was that merely the last wisps of my dreams?
However, the lather dried on my face pretty quickly. I assume that's the way I mixed it -- but too much water or too little soap? Thanks for any suggestions: I am off to start up a new server installing and then to watch Mantic's videos again.
