Freezing Friday:
- Merkur HD w/new Feather blade
- SMF III brush
- SCS New Spice soap

Such a close-but-gentle shave that I just realized I never put on any Skin Food, Corn Husker Lotion, or anything else. Wow!

(CHL and Bag Balm are mentioned in this Ask MetaFilter thread from earlier in the week: http://ask.metafilter.com/57021/Help-my-dry-hands Soaking your hands in white vinegar? Yech!)

SOTN Thursday:

Image

Palmolive Lather on face with C&E Best (Old Spice mug used only for soaking the brush and adding interest to the photo :-) ).
GEM Featherlight with Ted Pella blade (second day) 3 passes.
Final pass and T&C with E1 Injector (not pictured) on day 6 with a Shick blade.

This is my second time with the GEM, and I definitely felt better about how it went. I'm learning more about the direction of growth on my face every time I change razors. This is also the first time I changed razors mid-shave. It occurred to me that the smaller head of the Schick would be more maneuverable for the final pass, and I was right! Near-BBS.

Friday:
Best. Shave. Ever.

'56 SS/Feather (day five)
Schick E3/CVS blade- T&C
SMF III
Tabac Original (third time)
Thayers Original
Trumper Limes skin food
Trumper Wild Fern cologne

As I said this was a fantastic shave, almost no irritation (a little around the jaw line, the bane of my BBS). I, too tried the Injector for the first time today for T&C... weird. There may be something to this shaving fidelity stuff.

Richard, Personally, I especially enjoyed your photos the last couple of days; very nice effect, and everything clearly visible.
Friday:

Gillette HD Rocket & Swedish Gillette blade
Plisson #14 European White
Yardley English Lavender hard shaving soap
D R Harris's Pink A/S
Yardley Black Label

Another exceedingly good shave with the old Yardley soap. Incredibly good stuff. With it, I felt the need to break out my stash of Yardley cologne to go with it. No wonder that I used Yardley in high school; I must have been pretty sharp for a teenager ( chuckle ).

Gordon, you have to stop. Everything you like, or have liked in the past, has ended up in the dustbin of history. Just stop it already, you are ruining it for the rest of us.

The end of a tough week. Might as well smell good. Plus my favorite old Chinatown teapot. And sentence fragments. Real life, gritty. Anyway -- at last -- Friday night!

Saturday:

Vulfix 2233 Super Badger
T&H Luxury Shave Soap
Gillette 1954 Rocket w/ Swedish Gillette

I really think the "Swedes" make all the difference.
