No, Gordon has remarkable self control. It impresses me, actually.Nitrox wrote: Richard, do you think we can get Gordon to spring for a BK4?

Bruno, Nope, nope....not me....Chris Fisher talked me out of it....sort of, for the time being....ummm.... . Anyway, weird, about those Swedish Gillettes. To me, they're the smoothest cutting blades I've used in many years. Only the Tescos are even close. How many of them have you tried? I suppose a 'bum' blade is possible with any brand, although I've yet to get one, myself. If you really decide you don't like them, send me a PM and I'll trade you any other blades I have for them.

Gordon

I'm also impressed by your self control Gordon, I usually break down after much hesitation.bernards66 wrote:Bruno, Nope, nope....not me....Chris Fisher talked me out of it....sort of, for the time being....ummm.... . I have about 18 more of those Swedish blades, I bought 4 packs of 5 and I'm on my second one now. It's just as rough as the first.
I have a few Tescos that Kirk sent me and I can't believe how great they are. I'm going on my 6th shave I think on the same blade and it has produced no nicks, cuts and almost no irritation.
I will try the Swedish in my Futur, my best razor; if it's nasty in there, then it has to be the blades.
I wish I could get a hold of a nice batch of Tescos though. Very impressive blade, similar to the Israeli blade but better in my opinion.

Bruno, Well, we know this blade business is very personal, and I only use Gillette razors, if that's a factor. But, in any case, if it doesn't work out, please PM me, as I have some blades that I know that you like, so a trade should be doable. You are sure these are the 'Swedes' right?...and not some other of those European Gillettes? Jeez!..I hope they haven't crapped those things up.

Gordon

I got them from The English Shaving Company, Gordon.
I will give them a few more tries and if they don't work out, I'll let you know.
Now that you mention it, they almost feel like those Russian Gillettes I got one time at Walmart. They were the most awful blade imaginable, making minced meat out of my face no matter which razor I used.

First shave with the Tesco. I am a confirmed Swedish Gillette man, but these blades are pretty damn close. I am awaiting some English Wilkinsons to make the final comparison, but any combo of these blades should keep me set for the rest of my life.
