Friday:
Gillette HD Rocket & Swedish Gillette blade
Simpson Tulip #3
Trumpers GFT shave cream ( thank ye, Bill )
D R Harris's Pink A/S
Trumpers Spanish Leather
Note: I find the GFT cream to be excellent; very fine lather etc. Like almost all cologne scented creams, the aroma is too powerful for my taste, but it's a very good cream. Those who either like the cologne, or are fond of creams like Taylors Eton College, T&H Grafton, or that old Charles Tywhitte cream, should check this out sometime,
Regards,
Gordon

Tabac Soap
Omega bristle brush
Merkur HD w/ UK Wilkinson
Third pass with Fromm-loaded Dovo Shavette
Alum block
Master's Lord & Master Aftershave
I don't know, Clive -- My shave yesterday was so good that there were spots on my face that didn't really need to be shaved today. That didn't stop me, though. BBS again today. I'm getting the best shaves ever with the HD & UK Wilks, though the Dovo has a lot to do with it, too. My third pass always manages to turn up some stubble in the cream -- usually from the tricky contours of the neck and jawline. (Makes me miss my Feather AC.)

Doug

Saturday,
Simpson T3
Coates Rose
Merkur Slant w/ Feather
TGR A/S Balm
Penhaligon Hammam Bouquet
I love Penhaligon fragrances in general but Hammam Bouquet never sat right with me. I do not like it at all out of the bottle; however, it isn't too bad after dry down. I normally only wear it for dressier occasions but chose to go with it today to compliment the rose shaving cream. It finally occurred to me what this stuff smells like: a diaper. I'm not talking about a used diaper, I mean one fresh out of the pack. The rose note combined with the powder smells exactly like a pair of Pampers fresh out of the pack. Unfortunatly this scent is now completely ruined for me. Coming soon to the Sell/Trade Forum: One decant bottle of Hammam Bouquet.

Saturday!
Rooney 1 Small Super
40's Rocket w/UK Wilkinson
Vintage Floris No. 89 Shaving Soap!
Thayer's Lavender
Coral Skin Food
Floris No. 89 EdT
I found a half used bowl of Floris Shaving Soap at an undisclosed location. It is in an unvarnished wooden bowl, kind od like the Knize soap, with Floris London carved in the bottom. The soap was pretty dirty, but one whiff told me it was the real deal. Took it home, cleaned it up, and shaved with it this morning. A classic tallow soap, with the unmistakable Floris scent.

Saturday:
Vulfix 2233
Mitchell's Wool Fat shaving soap
'58 Super Speed
Tesco blade (#1)
Thayer's Original witch hazel
C&E Sienna ASB
A great shave on a bleak day. Today is the Maple Syrup Festival, but we decided to avoid the crowds and go to the Market instead. We bought approximately seven pounds of pork products and a box of apple fritters among other things. Yummy.

Reg, Great find! That one is plainly pretty old, as the Floris shave bowls have been of the varnished variety for quite some time now. The original is one hell of a fine shave soap, ain't it? They say that they're bringing it back, but I bet that it wouldn't be exactly the same.....sigh.

This is my first time posting in the SOTD forum.
Friday night:
QED Lime Shaving Soap
New Savile Row SR 3122 Brush (Bulb-shave, 22mm knot, silvertip)
Gold Thick-Handle Tech Razor
Dorco Blade (from Korea)
Thayer's Original Witch Hazel
The surprise is the Dorco blades. I have experienced little difference between brands of blades until now. These blades, on the other hand, are noticeably smoother than anything else I have used to date. (I still haven't tried the English Wilkinsons, however.)
The Thayer's Original Witch Hazel has 10% alcohol. I don't get any alcohol "burn" from it, though. I notice also that the Thayer's with alcohol has no methylparaben in it, while the Thayer's Rose, with no alcohol, does have this paraben.

No, the Beauty Factory (Luxo Laboratories that make Booster and JM Fraser's) makes them for the local market. From what I can tell they try to copy Pinaud products for the most part.Tye wrote:

Interestingly the formula for Polar Ice is similar to Aqua Velva (the blue one, I forget the scent), but the scent is different. Good stuff, but like most of their products they come in a convenient bucket size that makes it expensive to ship. Anything that hits the 1kg mark (2.2lbs) goes bumped into the next stratosphere of expensive shipping category by Canada Post.
