Hot Shower No Scrub

SMF III by Rooney
Truefitt & Hill West Indian Limes
English Gillette 50's Style Rocket
Wilkinson Sword Blade 1st Shave
3 Pass

GFT Lime Skin Food

Well this will be for tomorrow so I will post thoughts then. I went with the Lime scent to add a touch more of the "Limey" theme.

This month is a direct idea from Tim(nodaktim). Thanks for the input on this months theme!

Okay, you want "British Invasion"? I'll GIVE you British Invasion!
Monday:

Shower with Vinolia soap, shampoo with T&H, finish off with Floris No 89 Talc.
Gillette Rocket & English Wilkinson blade
Simpson Tulip #3
D R Harris's Almond shave cream
D R Harris's Pink A/S
Penhaligon's Hammam Bouquet

So there! Not only is everything on the list English made, but everything except the actual razor and the brush, hold Royal Warrants to boot ( unfortunately, I don't currently own a Kent brush, or I would have used that too ). But, of course, actually, the whole deal is just the kind of stuff I use everyday, anyway ( chuckle ).

April 2007 - "Made in England" - ISD

Post by nodaktim »

Monday: 02 Apr 07 International Shave Day (ISD)

Image

I did not have the "limey" set (Charlie added that to my original idea for a more"limey" theme), but I did keep everything "Made in England"*.

Cream/Soap & brush:
Geo. F Trumper (GFT) Violet Shaving Cream* using a Edwin Jagger (EJ) Best Badger brush*

Razor & blade:
English Gillette Aristocrat #16* & Wilkinson Sword (UK) blade* (1st day)

After Shave:
Geo. F Trumper (GFT) Coral Skin Food*

I had to forgo my recent streak of Proraso products for this ISD.

I almost forgot how simply invigorating the GFT Violet is \:D/
However, I must've also forgot my water ratio for this cream as it did not go as well as I hoped. No BBS today. :(

This was my first time finally trying the Aristocrat #16. What a very nice razor. It's sturdy, smooth, easy to hold, good weight, and the audio feedback is awesome. I don't know if Gillette thought about acoustics when they designed this marvelous tool, but the feedback was louder and sounded better than my other razors.

After reading Gordon's post I was reminded that I shower with Imperial Leather soap. An all Trumper shave, as usual, except for the razor and blade.

Unknown British Gillette/English Wilkinson Blade
SMF III
Geo. F. Trumper's Limes Cream
Alum
Thayers' Lemon Witch Hazel
Geo. F. Trumper's Limes SF
Geo. F. Trumpers' Limes Cologne

Good shave tonight. I was able to keep the British theme alive with some "Old Speckled Hen". I really like the Trumper's Cream. I just wish the cologne would last longer.
Years from now, I'm gonna look like a boozehound with these ISD Pics.

Nothing is more English than Rose.

I know the razor isn't English, but the English Wilks don't work well in my English Wilkinson Sword Razor.

I think of the Thayers as my own little shaving Boston Tea Party.

Jeremy: you have exquisite taste in beer! (one of my favourites as well)

Gordon: I had to put the old pot in there to rub it in! At least we're even on the very rare "Fougena"!!!

Charlie, It doesn't, not anymore, and that's the point. Bill is messing with me; I knew it! Those gorgeous ceramic pots, facsimiles of their Edwardian Era ones, were available for years. They were a Trumper classic and a hallmark. I knew about them, knew where I could buy one in NY, and kept putting it off.....and then they stopped offering them, and I was out of luck. I've been kicking myself ever since, and Bill knows that. He got his in London, years ago. I wish that they would bring them back.
Regards,
Gordon
