Gordon, I mentioned this in an earlier post. The long and short of it is that I had a dehydrated pot of rose, which I attempted to rehydrate, but it never fully got there. When I use the rose it always stays a bit clumped up, which was irritating, and I'm too lazy to attempt to try to hydrate it fully. I had a tube of sandalwood whose lid broke, so I had transferred it to a small tub I had. I wondered what would happen if I added some of my almost hydrated rose cream to the small pot of sandalwood and voila! It's about 60% sandalwood 40% rose. It's great, the scents compliment each other, making almost a strawberry scent. The cream of course is Coates, so it lathers like a dream, and combining the two has smoothed out the rose perfectly.

Reg, Ah ha! I must have missed that post.....or my memory is slipping worse then I thought...sigh. Could be interesting as a couple of my favourite dressy colognes; No 89 and Hammam, are mixes of those two notes more then anything else.
Regards,

C & S No. 88 and Chanel Egoiste are also good rose/sandal colognes.

Thursday:

Vulfix Left and Right Hands
Musgo Real
Gillette Fusion
Trumpers Skin Food

Once a month, I'm in such a rush that I get a killer shave from a Fusion. That's about all I can take, but it usually comes off well.

Richard, nice to see pictures of the VLB in action!

I don't get it. You used two brushes at the same time?

That's how they roll in 'Porkopolis'. A brush for both hands.

It's a joke. I could just as easily have written Rooney Left and Right Hands, or Simpson Left and Right Hands...

Today I unexpectedly discovered that I'd run out of DE blades. So while some packs are en route from ClassicShaving, I'm back to the Fusion.

Anthony preshave oil
AoS Silvertip brush
Taylor's Sandalwood shaving cream
Gillette Fusion
AoS a/s balm (unscented)

Chanel Pour Monsieur cologne

... and the meaning would still have been lost on me. Maybe I just don't get it because I only have and use one brush?

How is that possible? Walmart does have US Personna blades for ~$1.55. They are the best, easily available, local blades that I have found. So no need to resort to the fusion while waiting for your online order of blades. Besides, you should stock pile at least 50 or so blades. (maybe of each type... :P )
