Today was Shave With Stuff I Got From Chaps On SMF Day

Rooney Style 1 Finest small (rustyblade)

Vintage Yardley soap (slcsteve)

TI Evide Sonnant (dr moss)

Pretty much the bees' knees. R. Blade found the little Rooney a bit too stiff, but it was just about right for me -- very firm, slightly scrubby, but whipped up an excellent rich lather with the Yardley, which, in its turn, was undiminished by age: tallow-y, suave and abundant. The blade swept through it, mowing stubble like a champ.

Tomorrow I too will get Harris Pink. It is obviously the craze du jour.

Aw, jeez! I go out and buy a bottle of the stuff and now everybody's doing it. I can only imagine how Richard feels.

Michael, "craze du jour"?......well....I suppose more members ARE picking up on it. I've been harping about the old Harris's A/S Milk for a few years now, and when that was changed, Pink became my new tune. If you like Coral Skin Food, you're almost bound to like Pink....and likely more so. Yeah, those old Yardley shave soaps are just superb.
Wednesday:

Gillette Superspeed & Swedish Gillette blade

Hoffritz slant/Tesco
Sabrooney finest style 1 size 2
T&H Soap
Lucky Tiger Tonic
Acqua di Parma Colonia

I hadn't used the T&H soap for a while - it was under a stack of other soaps and creams. It impresses me anew each time I find it.

Straights are very addictive on the scales alone, never mind the blade. How is shaving now that you've tried it the straight way?

Yes, the Pink is very nice, AND very similar to the Coral Skin Food, AND better than the Skin Food IMO. Gordon, you are quite right about these Harris After Shaves, they really are the best out there IMO. (Too bad they changed the Milk, it is still good, just not as good as it was).
Cheers,
Rob

Merkur Futur – Derby blade
D.R. Harris Marlborough soap
Vulfix 404 brush
Taylor’s Bay Rum aftershave
Clinique M lotion

There is a lot of redundancy in my day-to-day rotation; always a Harris brand soap, same razor, same blade, same brush. While the setup may become boring, my face appreciates my sticking with what works best.

A smooth, irritation free face, is a happy face. :D

Oh, nothing. Just putting a curse on Mr Blade.
