Wednesday:

Merkur HD / Feather
Rooney Finest Style 1 Sm.
Tryphon Rosa Soap
Floris No. 89 EDT

Great shave. The Floris arrived yesterday. Great stuff; it reminds me in some ways of Trumper Eau de Quinine.

Razor: Merkur Futur
Blade: Feather (used twice, and 'corked' today)
Brush: Pure Badger
Cream: T&H Ultimate
A/S: witch hazel, OAS rosewater

I read up a bit on 'blade corking' after yesterday's massacre, and tried it this morning. Much, much better. Seems to take the harsh edge off the blade. Still very sharp, but not as likely to dig in. A very good shave today.

Merkur HD / Feather
Vulfix boar brush

The "J-Hooking" technique as shown on Mantic's video has been giving me great results below the jawline. You have to keep a light touch, though, to avoid burn.

I've been on the Mama Bear soap Kick the past few weeks and I'm really getting the hang of soap lather...I gotta say I'm enjoying it more than the cream right now.

Gillette Executive & Swedish Gillette blade
Simpson Polo #8 Best
Trumpers Almond shave cream ( old )
D R Harris's Pink A/S
Trumpers Spanish Leather

Note: I was fortunate enough to receive this striking razor a while back from Dominic. These US made Executives are not commom. Visually they look very similiar to the British made model #66. A great razor, but like most of the other high end Gillettes from that era, Aristocrats and such, it was a little too aggressive for me. So, when I had to return Richard's HD Rocket, I just went back to my standard '40s style Superspeed. But then, enter Bill ( aka 'Trumperman' ). He believed that he could tweek the Executive such that it would be a milder shaver, more like the SS or that Rocket I had. And, by George!...he seems to have succeeded. The Executive now seems to shave smooth as silk, and is milder then it was. If today's experiance holds up, it will become my new day-to-day razor. Good work, Bill!
