I'm on an Old Spice kick lately. I love it! What a shame we can't get the shave soap anymore.

A fantastic shave to start the week. I forgot how nice this cream was, but I still can't figure out the scent.

Monday,

Plisson #12 HMW
Coates Sandalwood
Start: Feather AC with Pro Blade
Finish: Merkur LHC w/ Feather (4)
DR Harris Pink A/S
Alvarez Gomez AdC

OK, that did not go as planned. I have a Lynn Abrams honed, 5/8 TI straight, and while it is fun to play around with, I can't get anything even remotely resembling a close shave with it. I thought the AC, with its legendary Feather sharpness, would be just the ticket. Nope. All it did was reinforce the fact that my beard is hard as nails. It only cut a little better than the TI. I didn't get any nicks or irritation, just a very unclose shave. Finished up with my usual rig and all was well. It also confirmed how much pressure I use with a DE. The AC is a fine instrument, just not for this guy :(

Rooney super 1/1 horn

Lucky Tiger tonic

I hadn't used the Progress much recently, and had forgotten how effortlessly I can shave with it.

Must be a day for the serious brush...a....accumulators to drag out their high end Plissons.

Gillette TV Special Superspeed & Swedish Gillette blade
Plisson #14 EW
Trumpers Rose hard shaving soap
D R Harris's A/S Milk ( old )
Trumpers Spanish Leather

After a few days with the Merkur blade ( which I was pretty okay with, all in all ), it was time to return to my trusty 'Swedes'. An excellent shave.

Hot, humid, tropical… I’m feeling the heat!

Merkur Futur – Derby Extra blade
D.R. Harris Lavender soap
Vulfix 376 brush
Old Spice aftershave
Clinique M lotion

A pint size glass filled with ice, a couple shots of vodka, fill to the top with oolong tea; find a shady breezy spot out on the patio and sip while enjoying the music. Now playing: The Baja Marimba Band, “Fresh Air”.

Regards,
