Monday
Monday Monday, so good to me,
Monday Monday, it was all I hoped it would be
Oh Monday morning, Monday morning couldn't guarantee
That Monday evening you would still be here with me.
Almost identical to yesterday's shave.
Razor: Merkur Slant
Blade: Feather (shave numero uno)
Brush: same old Muehle brush
Soap: the lovely D.R. Harris Almond, my face loves it and so do I!
After Shave: the last drops of Vichy Homme Soothing Balm for Sensitive Skin
Altogether a shave that made me look presentable. The Feather cuts with more ease than the Derby blade, but it is a bit too harsh on my skin, even with very light to no pressure and being in extra careful mode all the time.
I'm gonna try the German Wilkinson blades I bought an hour ago tomorrow morning and see how they will work out for me.
à bientôt messieurs

Long hot shower (it's a weekend)
Merkur HD with IP
Rooney Super Style 3/Small
William's Shave Soap
Cold rinse
Aqua Velva
The pucks of DR Harris, T & H, Floris, and Tabac made faces as I reached past them and grabbed the lowly Williams, but they'll get over it. Perfect BBS shave. It's going to be 106 degrees again so maybe tomorrow is a Proraso day.
Happy Labor Day,
Dave

Monday Night:
Gillette Aristocrat razor (1947)
Dorco blade
Omega small pure badger brush
Mitchell's Wool Fat shaving soap
Thayer's Original Witch Hazel (10% alcohol; no burn; no methylparaben)
Excellent, close shave.
This is the first time I have tried this new pure badger brush with a triple-milled soap (MWF), and it produced some great lather. I'm finding that a pure badger brush doesn't load as easily from a cake of soap as a silvertip brush does (the pure badger brush doesn't "hold" the soap on its bristle tips as well), but it produces lather more easily.

Tuesday
Razor: Merkur Futur
Blade: Derby Extra
Brush: Pure Badger
Cream: Floris Elite (topped-up with T&H Ultimate)
A/S: Floris Elite
EDT: Floris Elite
I shaved yesterday with the Floris cream, and there was a couple of 'chunks' of cream that didn't disolve or lather. I couldn't bear to rinse them away, and tried to re-use it this morning. I got a little bit of lather, but had to top it up with some T&H cream. Good shave combination!
