Merkur HD
IP, day 4
Rooney Super 3/1
D.R. Harris Lavender SS
Cold rinse
Aqua Velva

Good lather made on my face but I still get better lather in a bowl. Some razor burn. I usually get a week out of an IP. This one faded early. Has anyone else had variable life out of these blades?
Regards,
Dave

Tuesday Night:

Gillette Aristocrat razor (1947)
Dorco blade

Omega pure badger brush with faux blond horn handle
Mitchell's Wool Fat shaving soap

Thayer's Original Witch Hazel (10% alcohol; no burn; no methylparaben)

I don't think I have used a silvertip brush for several weeks. The pure badger brushes don't have the luxurious face feel that silvertip brushes have, but they seem to have an advantage in making lather. So far, I can't duplicate the lather produced by a pure badger brush with a silvertip brush. Since I build lather in a bowl and paint it onto my beard, the prickly nature of the pure badger brush isn't a problem.

Tuesday:

Hot shower.
Trumpers Lime Skin Food as pre-shave
Kent BK4
Trumpers Lime Shaving Cream
Merkur HD
Feather, Day 1
2 pass
WWR
CWR
Alum Bar
Trumpers Lime Skin Food
Boots moisturiser

Right, first shave with a Feather. Wow! just floated over my face, barely a sound, didn't actually seem to be cutting until you tested afterwards. Very different from all the other blades. I did find slightly more irritation on my neck/chin, and a slight nick, but I was being REALLY careful after all the stories I've heard.

Not sure the shave ended any closer than the others, it just felt very smooth and there's no drag at all. Will be interesting to see what the next few days bring.

Less irritation if I do two XTG passes, in opposite directions, before the ATG pass. Darn, I have to spend extra time shaving.

Tuesday and Wednesday:

Merkur Futur w/ corked Feather blades (shaves 2&3).
Bic Metal for upperlip
Kent BK4
Speick cream
Speick aftershave

No edt

Have used the same combo for the past 2 days and have gotten 2 very nice shaves.
The Speick reminds me a lot of Musgo Real in the texture and feel but obviously with a different scent.

Have a great day.
