Blue Tip SS (thanks Trumperman) + Dorco
PdP
Rooney 3/1 Super
Musgo Balsam

My first go with a SS. Nice shave. I shaved with my HD last night to get 3 days worth of growth off so I only did a one pass shave this morning. No irritation and smooth. Tomorrow I will do 2 passes for a proper assessment.

Sunday Night/Monday Morning:

PreShave: Hair Conditioner/Hot Shower
Razor: Merkur 38c
Blade: Derby Extra (Shave #2)
Brush: Kent/Altesse Pure Badger
Cream: TOBS HypoAllergenic w/3 Drops of Pure Glycerin for good measure
A/S: Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel and Nivea Sensitive Skin A/S Balm

Confession: This was my first full facial shave in about a month and a half. I had about a 2 week long streak of blemishes showing up on my face (happens every now and then) and the beard just helped hide them while they were healing. I gotta tell ya though, my face missed the feel of a nice clean shave. The gylcerin definitely gave a bit more glide to the razor. Still having trouble perfecting my blade angle though.

Monday a.m.:

Razor: Gillette Knack
Blade: Dorco
Brush: Rooney #1 Large
Cream: Trumper's Violet
A/S: Trumper's Limes
Moisturizer: C&E Unscented

First time using Dorco blades. They may be too gentle for the Knack. Decent shave - no irritation/knicks. But it took four passes to get there (compared to my usual two plus touch up).

Which blade to you typically use for your normal two pass shave?

Scott,

The other blades I've used have been Gillette Swedish, Derby, and Crystal. They've all given me great shaves (a couple of BBSes) in two passes with a little touch up.

Have used them in various razors with varying effects. The more aggressive blades in the gentle razors or the gentler blades in the more aggressive razors seem to work best for me.

Crystals work great in the Knack and the Krona; but irritate me no end in the Merkur HD or the SuperSpeed. I am, literally, a red neck.

The Gillette Swedish work great in the Merkur and the HD (a little less great in the Krona and Knack).

Derby - I probably won't use again in the immediate future. Only one blade in the pack worked well.
