Thor's Day a.m.

'49 Superspeed
Gillete Plat #1
Rooney 3,1 (thanks to Jim at Vintage Blades)
D.R. Harris Arlinlgton soap (thanks to Gareth at SMF)
Trumper's Limes A/S
Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer
Castle Forbes Gentlemen's Cologne (thanks to Jim, again)

Excellent two-pass shave with some touch up. Minor neck irritation.

The Arlington is great! Nice lather, wonderful scent.

The CF Gentlemen's Cologne is also wonderful. I prefer it to the Keig by a long shot. Nice, clean, citrus with hints of floral, spice and cedar(?). If it performs well for the rest of the day, I'm sold.

This T&H Rose has an intoxicating fragrance. It is quite dense and I underestimated it a bit. I used too much cream and ended up with loads of lather.

Trumper's Coral Skin Food
C&E Almond Oil SC
Rooney Style 1, Medium, Pure
1956 Gillette Red Tip
Swedish Gillette Blade, 1st use
Trumper's Coral Skin Food as A/S

The red tip arrived today, the result of an Ebay auction. The razor looks great, with a nick or two to the red paint (actually more like maroon). I didn't pay too much for it and having recently seen one in the old movie Angel Heart, I had to have it. I was a bit apprehensive, being a relatively new DE shaver, handling this red-tipped beast for the first time. My concerns were laid to rest after just a few strokes - this razor is terrific.

I finished with a slight scrape on my neck - that I richly deserve for getting arrogant with the beast at the end of the shave - but nothing that required the steptic pencil.

The red tip seems to be much like an old ill-mannered 911 - it rewards drivers who pay attention.

All the best,

Buck

Friday:

Gillette 1953 President
Feather Hi-Stainless #1
Polo#8 Best
Arko Sensitive
Lime Skin Food

Well the Feather didn't disappoint in terms of cutting performance but there was a little irritation for 2-3 hours afterwards which I just don't feel with Swedes or Derby even when I have dauble shaved the day before. I didn't double shave yesterday so to feel the irritation is disappointing. It probably needs a milder razor... maybe it will mellow over the coming days... I dare say I would jave been better off using the Derby that would have been on day 11 today....
