Happy Memorial Day

Slant + Feather Day 1
Brut A/S
Cetaphil Lotion
Lime Skin Food

My skin was clearing up on my face, and then just stopped when I switched to the Nivea ASB, so I am using the alcohol-based a/s again, and after a few days I believe I am seeing some improvement in my complexion. My neck area is pretty much all cleared of my shaving bumps now.

In my first go-around with DE shaving, I had a Slant and sold it because I thought it was no better than my HD. I bought one again with my 1904 OC a month or so ago, and this was my first time back with the Slant. Right now, all I will say is that the jury is still out. This is one aggressive razor, and it gave me a close shave after 2 WTG passes, but it is more aggressive (gap), less smooth, and not as close as my 1904 OC. I just need to learn how to use this razor better, but the 1904 OC may to be a better fit for me. Let me just reiterate what Irving has said already...1904 OC + Feather = a very smooth shave. This combo is my benchmark. No shims needed.

Proraso soap
Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel toner

Tried the "Gillette Slide" technique today. Not as close as I would have liked, but it is my first attempt with it.

I am tardy at reporting yesterday's shave, so I'll post Sunday and Monday together.

Gillette Gold Tech w/Tesco blade
Coral Skin Food pre-shave
C&E/EJ Super Badger brush
Osma alum block
The Body Shop Razor Relief
Coral Skin Food post-shave

Nice shave - the Tech is just great for every-day shaving for me. Mild and looks great. It's a nice heft in the hand, as well for such a small razor. Not as heavy as a Fatboy, but more so than the Superspeed.

Gillette '56 Superspeed w/US Personna
Coral Skin Food pre-shave
C&E/EJ Suber Badger brush
Proraso green tub
Osma alum block
The Body Shop Razor Relief
Coral Skin Food post-shave

So - after touting the Tech, lemme sing the praises of the Superspeed. There are some things it does that simply amazes me -- you barely need any angle on the blade to get the right attack on whiskers. Another BBS daily shave - I feel that I have finally hit a rhythm with fixed-blade razors. The EJ Chatsworth is what I have my eye on next, but not for awhile yet.

Provence Sante SS
'61 Gillette Tech
Gillette Swede
Provence Sante AS Splash

A quick shave for this holiday Monday, PS always provides a nice slick lather for a nice shave and I like the light fresh fragrance of the splash, a perfect welcome to the summer season.
