  • Prep: Noxzema Deep Cleansing Cream & hot towel
  • Brush: C&E BBB
  • Cream: SCS Oakmoss & Lavendula
  • Razor: 20's Gillette Old Style with Ball End Handle for face & Bic Sensitive for head
  • Blade: Super Iridium (shave 1)
  • Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil
  • A/S: Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel Toner & Nivea Sensitive ASB

  • Result: A very smooth BBS shave today. Best shave in a long time as far as comfort. I think the Super Iridium has won me over after just one shave. Did have to go very easy on my lower neck as I still have some heat rash there. I did do 3 WTG passes there and surprisingly got BBS shave there.

Gordon, even though the CH3 is Big, for some reason, it just works great with soaps. I think with creams takes a bit of getting used to. Said that, I love my Ch3, I dont think there is another finer shaving brush in terms of solid build

All this after a very long day of helping gut my friends house and help clean up there flooded home.

Hey Ethan - I'm sorry to hear of the flooding in your area. I hope your home and family are spared. - Murray

Sunday Night:

Musgo Real Glyce pre-wash

Gillette Tech razor (gold, thick handle)
Gillette Platinum blade ("Swede')

Tryphon prototype pure badger brush
Tryphon Green Lime shaving soap

Thayer's Peach Witch Hazel (Astringent)

Wonderful shave! I left the Musgo Real Glyce on the beard for a couple of minutes before rinsing it off, and I rinsed it less. Tonight's shave had unusually good beard softening and outstanding glide/lubricity.

The Glyce soap is a suprise. It is a clear soap, but it is not a glycerin soap. It has the following ingredients: Sodium cocoate, sodium tallowate, sucrose, water, alcohol, castor oil, calcium carbonate, lime oil, and lime fragrance. It is clearly not a glycerin soap: It doesn't feel like glycerin soap and it doesn't smell like glycerin soap. It does seem to contribute to beard softening and especially to lubricity.

this blade has become a 2 shave blade for me, which sort of pisses me off considering how expensive they are. they give me the best shaves of any SE blade yet though, so im willing to stick with it, even though they cost a mint.
