Thursday Night:
Gillette Tech razor (gold, thick handle)
Gillette Platinum blade ("Swede")
Koh-I-Noor 078J brush (Best Badger)
Tryphon Green Lime shaving soap
Thayer's Peach Witch Hazel (Astringent)
You know, I love my traditional soaps (Valobra hard soap, Institut Karite, and Cella soft soap), but I get awfully good shaves with Tryphon. It lathers so easily and it is very forgiving of lathering errors. It has better lubricity than my traditional soaps, and it shaves closer without irritation, but it doesn't offer the same level of skin conditioning as the others. Tryphon soap (and probably most glycerin-based soaps) works best with more water than the traditional soaps.

Blade: Royal stainless single edge, third shave

Put a few drops of Cornhuskers into the mix and got a great, soothing lather. Another great shave.

Derby day 2 (I give up on these blades - they just don't work for me)
MWF
NB a/s balm
I find Derby blades to be dull and irritating. It is interesting how blades can work for some but not others. I have much better success with Personna Reds and Cristals (even Merkurs perform better for me...)

I ordered a Chubby 1 from Lee yesterday to complement my stubby 1 (along with a Trumper's Sandalwood soap & bowl). What a great guy to do business with (called him and placed my order over the phone). I believe the stub and the chub will be pretty similar, which is fine with me b/c I love my Stub. I'll be sure to post my thoughts next week after I've used it, but I'm really looking foward to receiving this new brush.

Friday AM
El Cheapo boar brush
Old Spice Lime
Orange blossom water in the sink
'52 Gillette SS w/ Feather (3rd shave)
Dickinson's Witch Hazel (now with tea tree oil!)
Brut splash
Brut balm
Didn't see any redness or irritation, but damn that Brut sure found it. I think I'll stick to Aqua Velva when I'm using the Feather.
