Thursday 1/15 . . .
- Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
- Brush: Knotty Badger refurbished with silvertip badger Ever Ready 300
- Cream: SCS Very V
- Razor: 1911 GEM Jr with 2 piece handle strop attachment
- Blade: Ted Pella PTFE coated (shave 4)
- Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil
- A/S: Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel Toner & Pinual Clubman A/S
- EDT: SCS Very V
- Result: The SCS products paired with a great brush and razor & blade combo led to a really enjoyable BBS shave today. No blood again today. Maybe I am getting my technique down at last. On the other hand maybe I am just lucky two days in a row.

Thursday:
Gillette '58 TV Superspeed / Gillette Super Stainless Steel blade (the "Spoiler")
Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet Shave Cream
Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet After Shave Balm
I don't know whether it's a change in my nose, or the cream, but the citrus note has become more prominent in the Blenheim Bouquet cream. The pine note used to dominate all else. The after shave balm, however, is still more piny than anything else.
In any event, a top-notch shave today.

RAZOR: Gillette SuperSpeed
BLADE: Drug Store garbage
BRUSH: Tweezerman badger
SOAP: Proraso
A/S: Aqua Velva then Lumene skin care
Result: Not too bad this time, some pulling but the proraso masked the crappiness of the blade for the most part

Bill, I just have very loud speakers on my computer from Logitech!bbsupersport wrote:What do you have setup for listening in the bathroom...I mean, shave den!gr_elias wrote:Music Madrugada - Vocal
Merkur HD
Feather blade
Pure badger brush
T&H Luxury soap
Nivea balm
Listening to music while shaving makes the shave even more relaxing.... You just forget everything that bothers you... especially with this song...
I never get complains from my neighbors though, so I am assuming they like my music!
Regards,
Elias

Don't think that would work for me...especially at 5:30 am when the Missus is still getting her beauty sleep . I might have to get a little iPod & dock with speakers. I'd like to add the music to the shave sounds like a great idea!gr_elias wrote:Bill, I just have very loud speakers on my computer from Logitech!bbsupersport wrote:What do you have setup for listening in the bathroom...I mean, shave den!gr_elias wrote:Music Madrugada - Vocal

Thursday:
Prep, 24:50 minute soak in swimming pool during workout.
Super Adjustable, P1, set at 4,5
Treet Durasharp Classic coated carbon steel blade, 3rd shave
Old Spice sensitive in the can
Target witch hazel
Body Shop Razor Relief
One pass at 4 setting, two passes at 5.
This is becoming the default setup. Not quite BBS as with lather and brush, but the aloe and lanolin in the Old Spice are easier on my face, and close enough to get through the day.
Things may change as technique improves, an ongoing process.
