Sunday

Futur
Gillette 7 O'Clock (yellow pack)
Vulfix Piccadilly and Simpson's Best Badger Special
MWF
Musgo Real a/s

Decided to attack the MWF on multiple fronts with both boar and badger, and despite this assault, it's not really playing ball compared with my other soaps.

Tried the dry brush method, tried Zach's wet brush method, and although the lather on the brushes looked nice and creamy, and went onto my face okay, it did the disappearing trick. So the MWF is back in the draw for a while.

Giving the 7 O'Clocks a go courtesy of Paul at Connaught Shaving, who, after a few PM exchanges regarding the demise of the Swede, sent me a pack of green and a pack of yellow completely out of the blue, stout chap that he is.

Rooney 1/2 Super
Harris Marlborough
Wapienica straight
Thayer's a/s witch
TOBS Sandalwood

Well, I think the razor needs honing, or perhaps I've rolled the edge. It's under 3 months since it was honed, so I may send it back (under warranty), or I may take my coticule for a spin.

HD w/Derby(2)
Proraso soap, nicely bowl-lathered
C&E BBB
Proraso A/S balm

Still getting reacclimated to the HD after two months of the '47 Aristocrat. Also, the Derbys seem harsh after using IPs for a while. The Aristocrat/IP combination had worked well.

Squeezed the brush before the second pass and found a goldmine of rich lather hidden in the bristles. That may be used for my first pass tomorrow.

Good Sunday all...

Dovo Shavette/'66 Adjustable w/Dorco 301(Day 1)
C&E BBB
Erasmic Shave Cream
Thayers Original WH
Three Crowns Indian Sandalwood AS milk
G.F.Trumper Eau de Quinine (sample)

Second attempt at the Shavette went much better despite a two day growth (which isn't saying much). I took more time and thought about angles and felt my way through the first pass uneventfully. (I did miss a spot on my chin...) Went to the adjustable for the second and third passes as it was a pick-up I made early this morning at a weekly antique/flea market. It cleaned up very nicely and after starting out at No. 1 I switched to No. 3 for the remainder of the shave. Great results all around. Have a great day.

Saturday pm

EJ Georgian silvertip, Ingram cream, long handle fixed head Gillette, ladies model actually, Viking blade, Bourbon Parfums AS, no cologne as the Tam Dao was still Holding on. I really like Tam Dao but must use it sparingly because it stays with me for more than 24 hours.

SUNDAY:

Razor: Merkur Slant followed by Merkur Barberpole
Soap/Cream: Institute Karite/Wars superlather
Brush: Dovo
Blade: 7AM Yellow (4th or 5th shave)
Moss Scuttle
A/S: L'Occitane Cade

I tried the slant again today after keeping it idle for a few months. First two passes were fine, its just that the last with the Barberpole was better. Still dont see what the hubbub is about. Back into storage it goes for a few more months.....
