Ian....when you hear that knock on your door, and you open it...you may find those Bannanarama birds ,instead of Gordon, with that Cool Water business. BTW How is that Simpson "Special" holding-up? Any shedding still occuring?

Saturday Simple Shave:
Gillette HD/Wilkinson LB
Simpson "Commodore"
Harris's Lavender shave stick
Warm/Cool rinse
Trumper Eau de Portugal Hair Dressing

Best,
Fitch

La Toja cream
Thayer's Lavender witch hazel

Late shave- kid's soccer practice, swimming lessons, yard work, etc. on the HD list. But it was well worth the wait.
Best,
Chris

Yeah, I know, kinda goofy looking, ain't it- but I find the balance is actually better than the standard model from that time. Now the really funny looking one is the stick shift model.
Best,
Chris

Rooney 3/1 Super
Trumper's Limes Soap
Moss Scuttle
Dovo 6/8 Half Hollow
Pitralon Classic AS

An off day. Two cuts and the AS burned like habaneros on an empty stomach. I can't seem to get this razor as sharp and smooth as the old Rugra 5/8.

Razor "Merkur Futur"
Blade "Morris"
Brush "Omega 10029"
Soap "Trumper Rose"
Aftershave "Spanish Floid"

New brush, not broken in yet. I had to disassemble the head of the futur.
I realized that its head was not set correctly when I bought it. That was the reason that
the Futur was so aggressive, even on a lower level.

  • Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
  • Brush: The "Dana Brush" an Ever Ready 50 N
  • Soap: Tabac
  • Razor: '48 Gillette Super Speed
  • Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge DE (shave 3)
  • Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil
  • A/S: Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel Toner & Clubman Club Complete ASB
  • EDT: Tabac EDT

  • Result: I'm on a roll. Another BBS shave that was absolutely marvelous. The Tabac is my favorite and best soap. Great lather provides the necessary slickness and cushion for me to get an exemplary shave. The '48 Super Speed has special meaning, my birth year razor, and it also make for a great shave when paired with the SharpEdge blade.

It sheds a wee bit, like the odd hair every other shave, but nothing major.

Blimey, look at that. A Mach 3 and Davidoff Cool Water. They'll be a knock on my door and I'll open it to find Gordon standing there in a Grim Reaper outfit!!

Ian

That's funny, I love it..........

However, what's with the Mach 3, you have posted it's use quite a few times, your not being drawn over to the dark side are you.

Regards
Well, I had a Mach 3 knocking around and did a little experiment, documented here:

http://www.shavemyface.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=38278

Basically, the result was that I got good shaves from it without any of the nasty stuff that is often talked about with cart razors, and this is probably a result of learning to shave properly with a DE, Brush and lather.
