Poor shave today, mind on other things and rushed, worst shave in probably 18 months. Not listing the stuff I used as it wasn't their fault.

Cheered myself up by ordering some Trumpers Rose cream.

Was in a hurry to make a dentist appointment and only had time for a single pass, a splash of water and a touch up pass. Was really pleasantly surprised at how good the results were!

  • Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
  • Brush: The "EverRoddy 300" with silvertip badger knot
  • Cream: C&E Sweet Almond Oil
  • Razor: '12 Valet Auto Strop
  • Blade: Ted Pella PTFE coated SE blade modified to fit the Auto Strop
  • A/S: Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner & SCS Savory Rose ASB
  • EDT: TSD Old Spice Type EDT

  • Result: Was reading a post on TSD about using a DE blade in a Valet Auto Strop. Be aware that it can't be done. So I decided to get my Valet out and give it a whirl today. Not a bad shave, not BBS but DFS at least. Did not blade buff cause last time I did that with the Valet I was nothing but blood. This time, did not get a nick or weeper. The wife made a comment on the TSD Old Spice Type EDT, she really liked it. The Pella blade in the Valet is on shave 5 and I think it is time to modify another and use it next time I pull the Valet out of the drawer.

Merkur Slant
Vulfix Pure Badger
Trig Blade
SCS Morocco Soap
D.R. Harris A/S
Jack Black Post Shave Gel

Everything was pretty good until I put on the Jack Black, then it was tight and burned, and I have no clue why.
It has always been fine by itself. It seems maybe D.R. Harris got mad and is kicking the crap out of it and my face,
thats what happens when you mess with the Harris.
