Regardless, glad the 31020 is working for you.
Mine is nearly broken-in and lathering quite nicely.
The backstory here is that Tim was nice enough to lend me his lovingly broken-in 31020. Unfortunately, some gentleperson employed by the USPS opened the package and helped himself/herself to the brush; the remains of the package continued to its destination. Thanks for the reminder, Tim, of my utter and abysmal failure in shipping.
Best,
Chris

My last go around with a 7 O'Clock Yellow blade did not go as well as this. Unbelievable. All components in today's shave performed admirably. I really don't have much else to say. Very pleased with today's shave.

Another lovely shave and no sting from the lavender water.
I've realized that I like to finish the shave with a little alcohol before applying the balm.

Not at all, not at all.
Really, I enjoy the breaking-in process. Allows me to lather up in the evenings, just to get those bristle tips split.
The Proraso is an efficacious splash. My wife likes the scent, and I can tolerate it, so I guess it will probably stay.

Razor: Futur
Blade: Indian Wilkinson
Brush: Vulfix 2006 Pure Badger
Soap/Cream: Taylor’s Avocado cream
A/S: Dickinson’s Witch Hazel/Pre de Provence A/S balm
Tried a new blade this morning, which I had received as a sample. The results exceeded my expectations--a smooth, comfortable, irritation-free shave--and BBS too! I need to try a few more shaves with it, and also try one in another razor to see if it performs well there, too. But I’m a happy camper so far.
The witch hazel and Pre de Provence finish was a great way to top off this morning’s shaving experience.
