Wednesday...havent posted here in a lonnng time but I tried a new blade and had good results!
Gillette English Tech
Derby Blade
Simpson PJ2 in Super
GFT Sandalwood Cream w/ Dirty Bird Scuttle
DR Harris Pink A/S
Good shave overall. I think the Derby's might be an alternative to the Merkurs for me. I will know better tonight or tomorrow.

Razor: Merkur HD
Blade: Indian Wilkinson (by Gillette)
Brush: Shavemac 2007 LE
Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Soap: Speick Shave Stick
A/S: Trumper Wild Fern
Every time I use my HD I am reminded how much I like it. I really should use it more often. The Speick shave stick and Shavemac brush produced a nice protective lather and I enjoyed an excellent shave. The Wild Fern was an excellent finish and I will be getting hints of it all day.

Wednesday Shave
Wednesday, November 11, 2009
Razor: Merkur Progress XL
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Brush: Vulfix 2006 Pure Badger
Soap/Cream: Tabac soap
A/S: Dickinson’s Witch Hazel/Ogallala Bay Rum, Limes, & Peppercorns
Fine shave from the Astra (shave #5) this morning. Time to dump the blade, though, even though I could probably get another shave or two out of it. Possibly the very protective Tabac saved me from a weeper or two, which is usually my personal warning that the blade needs changing.
The Ogallala A/S (one of my favorites) was an excellent finish. Yes, the Ogallala is witch hazel based, so why not eliminate the Dickinson’s as being redundant? The double-whammy A/S treatment seems to leave my face feeling absolutely great--even better than with just one of the A/S components by itself.
