Nice kit up there Tim!

I followed up yesterdays great shave with the same kit.

Vulfix 374 Super
Merkur HD/Wilkinson Classic
D.R. Harris Arlington, Shaving Cream, After Shave Lotion and Milk

Same fine results. Yes, the Vulfix is a soft brush but it does really well making lather with the DRH shaving cream.
Good shaving,

Gary

Monday Shave

Post by Nick Freeh »

Monday, March 15, 2010

Merkur Futur
Super Iridium
Proraso Green Tea & Aloe SS
Simpson Emperor 2 Two-Band Super
Dickinson’s Witch Hazel
Proraso A/S Balm

I think the Futur with an Iridium blade is about as close to shaving Nirvana as it gets, and this morning’s shave was no exception. Wow, what a nice shave! I have to credit the Proraso soap, also--I’m coming to love the stuff. For me, it provides excellent glide and cushion, allowing the Futur to surgically eliminate the stubble. Proraso GT&A has a light and pleasant scent, a nice touch of menthol, lathers easily and well, and the price is right.

The WH/Proraso Balm provided an excellent finish.

Monday

Taylor's Rose shaving cream
Rooney 1M Super brush
Gillette 50s SS with Super+ Platinum blade
D.R. Harris Pink
Czech & Speake Citrus Paradisi (sample). This was better than the Cuba I last tried, but there seems to be a C & S house style that doesn't really appeal to me.

Beautiful Sunny Day on the West Coast. Hence the citrusy inspired shave.

Gillette 58 TV
Super Iridium
Semogue 2009 LE Boar
Trumper's Lime Shave Soap
D.R. Harris Pink

Trumper's Lime Cologne

By far the best shave I have had with the boar. I used a new, to me, technique that worked better than my previous way of lathering. The lather/brush was the highlight of the shave as I become less and less enthused about my razor/blade combos.

Monday evening.

Prep: Wash face with glycerin soap, lather face massage, hot towel.
Soap: DR Harris Arlington.
Brush: Duke 3 Best.
Razor: Weltmeister Rostfrei rescaled by Max.
AS: Thayers Witch Hazel followed by Proraso Splash & Balm.

These are my favorite stainless razors. I like the first one so much I purchased a second and sent them off to Max who rescaled them in Wenge Wood.
