SOTD: March 29 thru April 4 2010
Good day Saturday
Muhle R89 with Derby
Rooney 3/1 super
DR Harris Lavender shave soap
Speick aftershave lotion
GFT Wild Fern
I started out this shave with my Alibaba 1, and the poor thing hasn't stopped it's habit of loosing about 3 hairs per shave. Much as I enjoy this brush, it will be sent back from whence it came.

Vulfix 2234 Super
Merkur 1904/Wilkinson Classic
D.R. Harris Arlington Shaving Cream, After Shave Lotion and a dab of Milk
With little effort and a relaxed frame of mind a most superlative shave for a Saturday morning. A good example of why it's better to just get on with it and shave.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:
1964 Macys badger brush
1958 Executive/1965 Gillette Stainless steel blade
J Peterman SC(the last of it till my order gets here).
Lumene AS balm
TGQ 'Leatherneck' extrait
First time using this vintage blade. I tried finding some info on these regarding performance, but didn't see much at all. I'd picked up a few of these quite a while back and they kinda called to me this morning. So, I gave em a try today.
This is a nice blade. I'll review it after a couple more shaves maybe, but so far so good. The blade is a little milder than I prefer(Iridium), but was smooth and comfortable to use. It was a pleasant surprise finding a blade like the Gillette Stainless.
BBS results,
Martin
