Andrew -- I used to make a poor-man's pseudo skin food by mixing CHL, aloe vera gel, and witch hazel. I don't remember exact proportions, but it seems that it was something like 2:2:1. You could add a drop or two of EO to scent it if you like. As I remember, it worked pretty well, but now I just use the real article.

Tuesday:

Simpson Astor LE
Penhaligon's English Fern soap (new)
Muhle R89 with Gillette Platinum blade
Booster Mosswood AS; Gentlemen's Refinery AS Balm
Floris Vetiver EdT

While the new EF soap is decent, it's a shadow of its former self, IMO. I'm glad that I accumulated a stash of the old stuff back when it was a "mere" $25 a puck.

Tuesday

I Coloniali Mango
3 Claveles HH
English Tech head/Cooncat Bob's BM XL Deluxe
Iridium Super
No post shave needed. The I Coloniali is superb at post shave skin conditioning

Happened to be a bbs experience, I keep forgetting that the I Coloniali has a smooth menthol kick that money can't buy. Don't know how they do it, but I'm glad they did.

Tuesday Night:

Edwin Jagger razor
Treet Dura Sharp "Classic" blade (carbon steel with PTFE coating)

Semogue 2040 brush (silvertip with tall acrylic handle)
Art of Shaving, Unscented, shaving soap

Thayer's Original Witch Hazel (Astringent: 10% alcohol, no -parabens, no burn)

I leave a tiny bit of invisible lather on the skin, then I blend it with the witch hazel as I massage the creamy mixture into the skin. This is as good as any balm that I have found.

I haven't used the Semogue 2040 brush for awhile, and I really enjoyed it this evening.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

1965 Macys badger
1958 Executive/1965 Gillette stainless steel(4th shave)
Penhaligons Racquets SC
Lumene AS balm
St Johns 'Bay Rum' cologne

Another very pleasant shave with this blade, with 1-2 more left before switching out.

The Racquets is an excellent cream......extremely easy to lather with great performance and a very nice scent.
