No, I took a one day hiatus. Yeah, okay, at the start so it's not really a hiatus In light of yesterday's Fitjar thread, I wanted to give the Rose another try. It's still weak when compared to the British stuff, even T&H, but is pleasant, just not assertive enough for my taste. Soap tomorrow and for the foreseeable future. Blenheim, I think.TBoner wrote:The soap thing is out, huh?Thalay Sagar wrote:Good afternoon. Monday:

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:
old Fields brush(never did bloom out)
1958 Executive/Iridium
J Peterman 1903 SC
Lumens AS balm
Aramis 'Havana' EdT(old version)
No idea why this razor fits me so well, but it's taken over my 'favorite razor' status from the fatboy, which held that title for a few years. Coupled with the Iridium, this combo is about perfect for me.
Second time wearing this EdT, and it's one I'm gonna use fairly often. Yeah, I like it quite a bit, and it lasts a good bit of the day. That was a lucky recent find.

Dickinson's WH
Aqua Velva a/s

I love the Coates cream...it yields a wonderfully thick and smooth lather that lasts easily through three passes. Finished with the C&E Sandalwood balm and Edt to keep the theme going.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:
1964 Macys badger
1958 Executive/Iridium
MWF
Caron 'Yatagan' AS(vintage)
Caron' Yatagan' Pour Monsieur(vintage)
Excellent shave this morning, and no surprise since the razor, blade, and soap are all proven favorites.
First time wearing the Yatagan, and so far so good. I'll see how this long this lasts on me, but I do like it. Very little burn with the AS, which is good for me.

I was just kidding, Chris. I completely understand the Fitjar thing, and figured it was related to Chris Fisher's thread.Thalay Sagar wrote:No, I took a one day hiatus. Regards,
Blenheim sounds nice. This a.m. is a citrus/pine day for me, too.

Razor: Merkur Progress XL
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Brush: Colonel X2L Best
Soap: Ogallala Bay Rum, Limes & Peppercorns
A/S: Generic Witch Hazel, Ogallala Bay Rum, Limes & Peppercorns Toner
Excellent, refreshing shave this morning. I find the scent of Ogallala BR, L&P to be intoxicating. I will spend the next hour or so sobering up.
