Had trouble with the lather this morning...I left too much water on the brush...but I soldiered on and had a very good shave anyway...back to work this morning after 10 days off...<sigh>...so it goes.

Well, I know one of the complaints folks have about boar is that it doesn't hold as much lather as a badger. That has not been my experience. This morning, for instance, I would have been able to go four or five passes with a standard amount of cream. I do soak my brushes, which saturates the bristles and increases the lather-holding capacity. Once I started doing that, I have rarely - except with subpar creams or extremely small boars - had problems with lather volume.

Monday 4/12 . . .
- Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
Brush: C&E BBB
Cream: SCS Smoke & Beads
Razor: '20s Gillette Old Type with Ball End Handle
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge (shave 3)
Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil
A/S: Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner & SCS Savory Rose ASM
EDT: SCS Smoke & Beads EDT
Result: Great, comfortable BBS shave with my favorite SC. The old Gillette worked it's usual wonders in getting the beard reduced and down close with three passes and the oil pass.

Razor: Edwin Jagger Chatsworth
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow
Brush: Vulfix 2234 Super
Cream: Ingram
A/S: Generic Witch Hazel, Proraso Splash
Ahh, nice cooling shave with the Ingram cream, followed by some more menthol goodness supplied by the Proraso. I find that Proraso is always a fine finish--it's one of my favorites.

Monday!
Coate's EJ3
Wilkinson Sticky w/ Annecy Swede
Penhaligon's English Fern Shaving Soap (Tallow)
D R Harris Milk (old)
Abercrombie & Fitch Woods EDT
I used my last "swede" last week. And I have to say, I like the Annecy's better...they are less aggressive and just as sharp. Very good blade.
