SOTD: May 3 thru May 9 2010
Thursday:
Schick Krona/Gillette Platinum
Semogue 2000 (Thanks, Tim)
Vulfix shave soap
Dickinson's witch hazel w/lavender EO and glycerin added
Booster Polar Ice A/S
Versace L' Homme
I received the Semogue brush from Tim (TBoner) as a gift with purchase. For those of you who have never purchased from Tim, his generosity and enthusiasm for this hobby are second to none on this board. With regards to using a boar brush, I first learned to shave using an old "Barbershop" brand boar, which show up occasionally on the B/S/T board, but this was my first use of a higher-end boar. The brush is usefully fan shaped and relatively dense. Each of the last three days I've put this brush through its paces, I've soaked it for a minimum of five minutes prior to use. I'm afraid I don't have much new to say about the matter of badger vs. boar, other than to confirm that the lather I have been generating from the Vulfix soap, a solid performer that requires more work than most soaps to build an acceptable lather, is both wetter and less stiff than what I typically get from my badger brushes. I have felt the blade a little more the last few days, but have had no adverse consequences, and the shaves have been quite close.

Pashana a/s
Musgo Real a/s balsam

A BBS shave this morning. I'm impressed with the GST and the Mem is always great. Heading on the road shortly to baseball playoffs so I packed my trusty Arko stick and an Omega brush for the motel shaves. Have a nice weekend...

Happy Friday From Florida!
Hot Shower
Hot Towel
Redneck Scuttle
Arko Citrus SC
Sabi Badger
Gillette Tech
Treet Blade (1)
Cold Water Splash
Witch Hazel
Florida Water
First shave with the Gillette Tech gold colored ball end and I also loaded up a Treet blade which I have not used before. Thanks to Paul / Creekview for the PIF blades!
Four Passes = BBS!
In addition, this is the first day with the redneck scuttle AKA self watering violet pot. It works okay, but now I need to get an electric kettle so I can have boiling water. I have my water heater set on 140 but I could not detect any noticeable difference in the lather temperature.
