Muhle R89 with Derby
Simpson Commodore X1 best
QCS shave cream: Sandalwood
jojoba oil with sandalwood EO
Surprisingly, the X1 has become my favorite of the Commodore line. It's an ideal small brush, IMO, because of the handle design that makes for an easy hold even though it's on the smaller side. The knot is great for face lathering - dense with a short loft.

Razor: Merkur Futur
Blade: Super Iridium
Brush: H.L. Thater Stout 1
Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Soap: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet
A/S: Alt Innsbruck
I actually did half a pass with my Wilkinson Sticky but the blade seemed dull so I switched to the Futur. I enjoyed a great shave followed by my favorite summer aftershave...Alt Innsbruck. Very nice!

Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Razor: Merkur Futur
Blade: Rapira Swedish SuperSteel
Brush: Grosvenor LE Two Band
Soap: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet (tallow)
A/S: Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel, Alt Innsbruck Splash
This was my first encounter with a Rapira "Swede" (received as a sample), and the result was a close and comfortable shave. It's another good Russian blade, and I would place it in the same general category of efficacy as the Astra Superior, which is a personal favorite--the Astra may be slightly sharper. However, since this was only the first shave with this blade, take my judgment with a hefty grain of salt. The Grosvenor LE whipped up an abundant creamy lather and the Alt Innsbruck provided a very fine finish. I'm looking forward to my second shave with the Rapira.
