Muhle R89 with Derby
Simpson CH1 two band super
Cella shave soap
Homemade aftershave

I was really pushing it with this blade today. Definitely past it's prime but I was just too lazy to switch it out. Still got a decent shave though. Not too close but no irritation or nicks.

Monday morning:

Turkish horse hair brush Nr. 7
Arko stick whipped up in a bowl
Schick twin blade disposable with sliding protective cap.
Target witch hazel
Nivea Sensitive ASB

Two passes plush touch-up, just to get through the day.
The oh-so subtle scent of the Nivea ASB is masked by the after effects of the Arko stick, but that's not a bad thing, just not as good as the Nivea.

Monday evening:

Turkish horse hair brush Nr. 7
Dettol laced with KMF unscented, whipped up in a bowl
Super Adjustable, P-1, set at 3 w. Dorco ST-301 -- first pass
Super Adjustable, O-2, set at 4 w. Treet Durasharp carbon -- subsequent passes and touch-up
Thayers Lemon
Nivea Sensitive ASB

The Dettol-KMF made for such a rich uberlather, it encouraged going for BBS, which was a mistake after shaving this morning. BBS, but too many weepers.

I find more lavender in it than you do, but it is very sweet. At first blush I thought it similar to the TOBS Lavender soap, actually, but it has more of an eau de cologne backdrop compared to Taylors' fougere-ish fragrance notes. Still, I actually really like it as a shaving scent, apart from its not being very lavenderish. Then again, I like someone to lower the boom with a bunch of EO right in my sinus cavity, so I'm not partial to anything remotely synthetic or "impure" in my lavenders. Very good shaving scent, though, as I said.

That said, my skin had an awful reaction. This is good information. I have been burned - literally - by several Italian soft soaps. I have wondered whether it was the almond scent or the base formulation. The answer appears to be both, as other almond-scented things (all of the Creighton's creams, for instance) also burn. So does this. Neither almond creams nor this burn as badly as P.160 did, but bad enough to discourage me from ever using it again.

Shame, too, as the lather is great and I really do like the scent. But it ain't lavender.

BTW, Chris, if you like traditional eau de cologne, you would probably really dig the Third Eye scent. Nothing to do with sandalwood, except maybe a light whiff of it in the base. Just a classic eau de cologne that emphasizes citrus and neroli (hoping that last word makes your ears perk up).

Regards,
Regards,
Tim

Tuesday, November 8th

Razor: iKon H20
Blade: Gillette Yellow
Brush: Thater Porter
Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Cream: Tabula Rasa Lavender
A/S: Speick

The Tabula Rasa cream is really growing on me and I always get a great shave when I use it. Today's shave was no exception. I think the key to Tabula Rasa is to lather it as you would a soap, directly in the tub. YMMV
