Three days in, very nice. Based on some folks comments, my lather the first day was a bit rich, but I am pretty close to getting the water ratior correct. Still the shaves are very good and the scent is very pleasant. I may have found my rose soap. I also bought the Provence. I was hoping it would smell like PdP, with that hit of clary sage. Oh, well. Still pleasant enough and it will be next on the block.
BTW, I see you have an avatar.
Best,
Chris

I have some Provence croap on the way. Also some lemongrass/cedarwood hard soap. Still wondering how my skin is truly reacting; I seem to have some enhanced sensitivity to my lather most days right now. Anyway, glad it is working for you. I'll be interested in comparing notes on Provence.
The avatar is something I have resisted. But this isn't really much of my face, and it's covered, so it shouldn't frighten anyone too terribly.

Sort of a German theme this week. One pass was more than sufficient and while it seemed a waste of perfectly hydrated lather, the shave gods were not offended.

OK, I have a confession. It's been cold here in Maine the last week or so when we wake up. Sure, we could turn up the oil heat, but we don't. I fire up the woodstove for a 1 hour burn with softwood. I also put the kettle on it to boil some water "for free". When I'm done eating breakfast the water is boiling and ready for my shave. So here's the confession part... for the past few weeks/days I've been mixing that boiling water with my basin water for the hot towel treatment. I forgot to write that in my SOTD posts.
The Black? A very nice blade so far, but it's only the first shave.

I am only two shaves in on the Rotbart and it is already in my top five favorite razors. This little guy is mild in the sense that you do not have to mind your P's and Q's yet it is amazingly efficient. I enjoyed a very close and comfortable shave, aided no doubt by AdP's luxurious lather and the smoothness of the Gillette Dark Blue blade. A splash of Acqua di Parma and I smell too good for the dog park. Oh well, a little luxury never hurt anyone.

Got my best lather yet with the QED soap today. Simply amazing. Nice and dense and with the extra slickness that the glycerin soap provides. Great shave.
