Muhle R41/ Rapira
Thater '1' Silvertip
GFT Sandalwood
Nivea balm

Continue to be impressed by the Rapira blades; as good as my faves (yellow 7 o'clock), and have good (a week-ish) longevity.
Thalay Sagar wrote:Louis, I'm with you on Trumper's veggie soaps. I find that they require a heavy hand loading the brush only to be rewarded with a lather that is too crisp for my tastes.
TS, I loaded the brush heartily today; foam frothing over the bowl - the results were similar; a lather that holds too much air and not enough water. 'Crisp' is a good description.

Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Razor: Merkur Progress
Blade: Ladas Super Stainless
Brush: Vulfix 2234 Super
Soap or Cream: Proraso Cream
A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Proraso Balm

A very comfortable and refreshing Saturday shave. I like a bit of menthol occasionally, even in the colder months of the year--wakes me up and gives me a jump start.

Yet another New Combination Saturday (this time actually on Saturday)

Loaded the Merkur HD with my last Rubie.
Whipped up some lather with the BK4 and Speick cream.
Generous application of Aqua Velva.

Very nice two pass shave. First try with this combination gets a 4.25/5.00.

Saturday, November 19th

Razor: GIBBS Click Pen
Blade: Super Iridium
Brush: Semogue Owners Club Badger
Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Cream: Trumper Coconut
A/S: Floris Santal

I ended up adopting a SOC Badger brush...I am weak. It looks like this brush will be perfect for face lathering...it has really good back bone, soft tips and excellent flow through. I enjoted an excellent shave followed by a splash of Floris Santal, a favorite.

Hmm, read the posts, mine is missing. Busy this morning, I forgot/didn't have time to post. I did have time to shave however.

Semogue 1438
VDH
Gillette Black Handle SS
Polsilver Super Iridium (2)
bay rum

I couldn't believe it, a super comfortable 2 pass BBS with touchups with a BH SS! Could it be the blade? Whatever it was, I could use this combo and not tire of it.

One fantastically close shave. As I faceturbate, the shave isn't quite as close at the moment as it would have been with a Slim or OCMM, but it's really close. Yup, great shave!

Muhle R41 (2009) / Rapira
Thater '1' Perspex
Cella
Nivea balm

After a couple of days of trying new stuff, this old dependable line-up felt great. Even if you're settled on a favoured kit, still use something else now and then, you'll appreciate your loved stuff more.
