Wednesday AM:

Simpson Special Best Badger
Valobra stick
Slim set to 9
Gillette 7 O'Clock black (7)
Bay Rum

The 7th shave on this blade puts it onto a pretty exclusive list of blades that meet my specs. One very nice blade.

One very nice BBS shave.

I decided my plan after my blade testing is finished is to retest the very best blades. That's just a few. That shouldn't be as distasteful as testing a Dorco for instance. I've had enough of blade testing, but the final round should be OK; almost not like testing anything and just revisiting old friends.

Razor : Parker 99R with a Supermax blade. The razor is ok, quality is kind of low, doors don't close 100% straight, shave was decent; the Indian supermax blades are ok, tugging on the third pass, I'm guessing these are only good for 1-2 shaves.

Brush : Omega 10029 baby pro.

Soap : New RR tester soap with a tobacco scent. Very nice, will have to consider this one.

Pre-shave : RR shave gel

Post : RR test A/S lotion followed by a tester of a milk balm I'm consider. The balm might be the best I've ever used, need to work on the scent though.

EdT : spray of Eucris by Trumpers.

Muhle R41/ Rapira
Thater Perspex '1' Silvertip
GFT Sandalwood Soap
Nivea asb mixed with 5 drops of Jojoba Oil

Trumpers soap, scent aside, does not impress me. Slight post shave irritation again today. Lather doesn't seem to hold water well enough. Back to Tabac, Cella et al

This aftershave 'mix' is really excellent. Jojoba oil, by itself, can eventually cause dryness, as it is very similar to your own skins sebum. Your body will compensate by ceasing production of sebum (stasis) - so while in the short term its a excellent moisteriser, it may have unwanted effects long term.
ps, for the same counter-intuitive reason, jojoba is often excellent at reducing acne.
