Saturday morning:

Hot towel face prep
Vitos SIS
Semogue 610 boar
V. AutoStrop VC1
Feather blade (5)
handcrafted bay rum

Awhile back I got to thinking about SE blade longevity, took a Ted Pella blade to 18 shaves, and was amazed. In DE configuration I love Feather blades, but I only get 2, maybe 3 good shaves from one before I can it. I assumed the SE version was the same, and canned them after 2 shaves as well. But my test with the GEM blade and my thinking about why they last so long prompted me to try for more shaves from the Feather SE. Right now the blade shows no signs of stopping and today was #5.

Another fantastic BB shave; 2 1/3 passes did it.

Saturday, February 18th

Razor: Cobra Classic
Blade: Feather Professional
Brush: Rudy Vey M7 with Shavemac Knot
Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Soap: D.R. Harris Arlington
A/S: La Toja Classic Splash

I received two new Rudy Vey brushes yesterday afternoon and could not wait to take them for a spin. The M7 with a shavemac knot ginned up a nice lather with ease and I enjoyed another excellent shave. The La Toja Classic Splash is new to me but my first impression is that I like it a lot. :D

Sunday

Becker scuttle
Homemade frankincense & myrrh preshave oil
Somerset Simpson Chubby 3 Super brush
Acqua di Gio shaving cream
Feather AS razor
Wilkinson Light Brigade blade (3)
Acqua di Gio aftershave balm and splash

The shaving cream is not high quality, but otherwise a really good shave. (I'm such an idiot. Even though the cream doesn't say "brushless," it must be; the directions say, "Apply a thin layer to wet beard and massage.")
