Mike,
This post needs elaborating upon :)
I have two of these ecotools brushes, this is the "bronzer" and the other (see image below) is the "finishing kabuki." Both have nicely finished bamboo handles and synthetic (taklon) bristles. Both make surprisingly usable shaving brushes.

I like dense, stubby brushes, and the ecotools bronzer is monstrous in both categories. The bronzer is not perfect. The fineness and dense packing of the bristles make the knot have a tendency to behave monolithically, so that it tends to push around rather than hold much lather. With soaps, I just keep loading the tips as needed and make the lather on my face.

The finishing brush is less dense and had better holding capacity, but feels a bit odd (velvety smooth lack of sensation) on the face, owing to the extremely fine fluffy bristle ends (visible in the image if you look closely). For those who like backbone with EXTREMELY soft tips, this would definitely fit that bill.

The fact that I have these and tried them is testament to the fact that I have a hard time not thinking of shaving, even when I'm in CVS looking for tweezers

Saturday AM

Georgetown G4 scuttle
Ach Brito Glyce preshave soap
Rooney 1/2 Finest brush
Floris Santal shaving cream
Ever-Ready razor
Gem Stainless blade (4)
T&H Ultimate Comfort aftershave balm
Creed Original Santal EdT sample (Thanks, Doug)

BBS. The Rooney Finest is one of my favorites, with a perfect blend of qualities. I like the Ever-Ready, which seems to "sing" more than other SE razors. And the Creed Santal is really luxurious; it's too bad it's so expensive, because I could really get to like it a lot.

Saturday morning:

Vitos Red SIS
Semogue 610 boar
A new to me Gillette 3 pin razor
Med Prep (1)
Kramperts Finest Bay Rum

\:D/

I received this razor yesterday from a friend. All that he required was that it go to someone who would take care of it. OK, so it's got most of the plating missing, the original handle is useless, but while it's a plain Jane now, it'll certainly pretty up with a wash and some makeup. I used it this morning, and it's aggressive for sure, so the love affair is on. It's by far the most aggressive fixed head Gillette I've ever used. It's easily on a par with the Slim set to 9 or the Muhle R41.

I'll definitely get it replated. BTW, as slim as the head is I decided it needed a handle every bit as slim, so I had a slim gold Tech handle and put that on it. It's like a miniature version of the handle that was on it.

Now, do I get it replated in gold or in nickle? If nickle, of course I'd look for a nickled handle. I can a lot worse than the Tech handle.

BTW, I think it's a #102-A, made between '21-'29, but not positive.

Thanks Marc!
