Today's Friday shave incorporates 2 changes to the standard lineup. 1. Rugby 6/8 full hollow straight razor instead of the General; 2. Lather was provided thanks to the Fine Snake Bite stick.

My grandson just got a haircut too. Here he is a month ago at his 3rd birthday party.

And here he is a couple days ago after the haircut.

He's a boy! (Pardon the heteronormative attitude.)

Today's Friday shave was a joy. The old R.Wade straight razor did it's best, and I used the Feather II on the goatee area to avoid any bleeding. They worked just fine together. The Asylum Bourbon Vetiver soap and Thater brush made the lather.

It so happens that Friday (today) is also the end of July. My final straight razor for this month was the Hart Steel. The SilkSmoke synthetic brush is back on the job and beginning tomorrow the General V2 with Schick Proline blade will be full time from here on out. Speaking of today's shave, it was fun to feel the well-balanced and comfortable Hart back in my hand and on my face again. The mission before me now is to carefully put the 15 straight razors back where they usually reside.

I must say that is a lovely little still-life, with the lighting, colours, and all.

Thank you. I was playing around with shadows but finally realized that I just couldn't really get the effects I wanted with my kitchen lights and my little point-and-shoot camera. So I think I've given up on trying that kind of image for now.

For Friday's shave I used the Semogue 2000 boar brush along with a one day outing with the Vetiver Bourbon tallow soap. Tomorrow will mark the beginning of several Art of Shaving creams and a soap for the remainder of the year.

This morning I finished a 10 day run of the Omega and the AOS Sandalwood. This is a good combination.
