Saturday AM 09-22-2012

Ach Brito Glyce preshave soap
Moss Anniversary Slate scuttle
Somerset Simpson Astor Best (22/50)
Taylor of Old Bond Street Lavender shaving cream
Wilkinson Sticky
Wilkinson Sword (cryogenically tempered) (2)
Woods of Windsor aftershave balm (vintage)

A pretty good shave. I really like the Astor, just as much as but for different reasons than the LE Astor in super badger. The cream burned some again. And the Sword blade, while perhaps having great longevity, just isn't as smooth for me as vintage Wilkinsons. The balm stung a little but was light and eventually soothing.

Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Razor: Merkur Futur
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Brush: Vie-Long "Gonzalo" (04102) Horse/Boar
Soap or Cream: D.R. Harris Almond Hard Soap
A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Proraso Classic Balm

Very smooth and comfortable shave this chilly morning. I decided it was time to bring out a balm, and the Proraso filled the bill very well, leaving my face feeling moisturized and well protected.

Sunday AM 09-23-2012

Homemade frankincense & myrrh preshave oil
Becker scuttle
Somerset Simpson Polo 12 Super (28/54)
G.F. Trumper's Coconut Oil shaving cream (vintage)
Wilkinson Sticky
Wilkinson Sword (cryogenically tempered) (3)
Woods of Windsor aftershave balm (vintage)

A very good shave. The Polo is very luxurious. Slight burning with the Trumper's. I'm beginnning to think that it's my skin that has changed and that I would react to anything I put on it right now. Strange.
