Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Razor: Merkur 23C
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Brush: Vulfix 2234 Super
Cream: Top Secret “Lanolizado”
A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Meehan Bay Rhum

My first use of the Top Secret cream, and all I can say is that the shave was great! I bought the cream out of curiosity and because it contained lanolin. I must say that it certainly left my face feeling good, but that could be a YMMV thing–I know some wet shavers are allergic to lanolin. The Meehan Bay Rhum provided an excellent finish, and I’m now ready to tackle today’s tasks.

Thursday, November 8th

Razor: Merkur Futur
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium
Brush: Rudy Vey Beehive with D01 Knot
Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Cream: Proraso Blue Shaving Cream
Scuttle: Bill Bowl
A/S: Proraso Balm

I received a shipment of the new Proraso Blue shaving cream yesterday afternoon and decided to take it for a spin this morning. I used too much cream and could have shaved several times over...I need to remember this the next time that I use it. That said, I found the skin conditioning properties of the cream to be excellent while the glide and cushion were more than adequate (although nothing to write home about). The Blue cream does contain menthol but it is far enough down the ingredient list that it is not perceptible, at least to me. If you like the performance of Proraso cream, you will like this cream. I found the skin conditioning properties to be on par with the Proraso Sandalwood and better than the Proraso Green. Of course, YMMV.

Homemade frankincense & myrrh preshave oil
Straight Razor Designs scuttle
Somerset Simpson 59 Best (25/56)
Acqua di Parma shaving cream soap
Wilkinson Sticky
Super-Max Titanium (3)
Armani Acqua di Gio splash aftershave

An excellent shave. The 59 is very soft and somewhat floppy, possibly due in part to the high loft, and it feels much like a Plisson. I'm afraid the Super-Max already is beginning to feel a little dull.
