Good afternoon. Friday AM:

Jaggerooney w/Dorco 301, #1
BK 4
Valobra stuck w/AG Violet
Thayer's Lavender witch hazel
Fitjar Neroli A/S balm*
Pen's Castile*

*After getting 5 inches of snow yesterday I felt obligated to go with neroli in order to chase the winter spirits away.
Best,
Chris

It's 75 degrees here. Not trying to rub it in. Just sayin'.

Hope you get a break from winter eventually.
Regards,
Tim

Tim, it's now 60 and not a cloud in the sky. The snow is gone but the reservoirs are recharged and the rivers are running. Gotta love Appalachia in the spring.
Best,
Chris

Friday:

Gillette Model #58 & Schick Platinum
D R Harris's H3 Best
Taylors Lavender shave cream
D R Harris's Pink A/S
Penhaligon's English Fern

Kind of a weird shave. The first pass lather was excellent but for the next two it was kind of thin. I've used this cream before with the X2L brush and it was fine so I'm thinkin' that this brush must, in some way, be shot. It's pretty discolored so I'm wondering if whatever it is that is embedded in the bristle tips has adversely effected their ability to retain water or lather, or whatever. I kind of noticed this phenomenon the last time I tried this brush but it was even more pronounced this morning.

Gordon, Have you considered the trying the vinegar brush wash method outlined in a recent thread in the shave brush section? It might strip away the residue that's built up on the brush. Or perhaps the this method outlined at Em's Place that many swear by: http://shaveinfo.com/videos/brush_cleaning.htm

Saturday AM 04-06-2013

Shave Secret preshave oil
Schwarzweisskeramik XL scuttle
Somerset Simpson Chubby 1 Super 2-Band (24/48)
Klar Kabinett shaving soap (sample)
Gillette Slim Adjustable
Wilkinson Sword (cryogenically tempered) (5)
Ralph Lauren Safari splash aftershave (vintage)

The Klar Kabinett does smell somewhat like Penhaligon's Hammam Bouquet and its scent is less intrusive than that of Fitjar East Indies. I like it, but I'm not sure I'll buy any right away, since I have a well-stocked cabinet at the moment.

Rudymac Finest
Arko soap stuck
Mühle R89 razor
Gillette 7 O'Blue
Dominica splash

Last use of the R89. Gonna sell it.

The Dominica is so pleasant. Great Saturday shave.

After my son's first-ever soccer practice, I'm off to the gym. Following the post-workout shower, I'll use some sort of fragrance - probably Vettiveru.
Regards,
Tim
