Rudymac | Arko stuck | Barley | Astra SP | Superior 70+*| Vettiveru
* Superior 70 and Dickinson's at about 2:1 ratio. I like this combo and am trying to steer clear of Aloe for a while to see how my skin responds, so no Thayer's.

Monday's shave involved a guest appearance from my Georgetown G5 scuttle.*
Semogue 2000
Top Secret Shave Cream
Gillette Black Tip w/ 7 O'Clock Yellows
Speick Aftershave Splash
I don't want to call this a perfect shave. Let me put it this way: if I were to die today, I would die happy knowing that this was my last shave. Perhaps thats higher praise than "perfect" shave.
*Lather was 'prepared' in the scuttle, and 'finished' on the face; if that distinction makes sense. Maybe this had something to do with the overall awesomeness of the shave.

Monday:
St John's West Indian Lime Bath Soap
T&H West Indian Lime Shave Cream
Jagger/CO Bigelow Best Badger Brush
Gillette Super Speed Adjustable O-4
Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum (Russian Black)
Thayer's Aloe WH
Lily of the Desert 99% Aloe Vera Gel
St John's West Indian Lime Cologne
I found the St John's WIL Bath Soap to be very drying and even slightly irritating. I've been itching like mad all day.

Monday:
Gillette Model #58 & Schick Platinum
Simpson X2L Colonel
Trumpers Violet shave cream
D R Harris's Pink A/S
Trumpers Spanish Leather
While there is no doubt that the Trumper Violet cream today lacks the richness and decadence that it had until a few years ago it is still a very pleasant, very old-timey sort of upper crust scent and the cream works very well indeed. BUT, be aware; if you have noticed ANY tendency for your brushes to discolor be selective when it comes to which brush you use with this stuff. I'm pretty thorough when it comes to rinsing out my brush after use and when I came home tonight it was, 'holy s--t!'...the X2L looked like I hadn't rinsed it at all, a big clump of purple right in the middle of the crown. I still haven't gotten all of it out. I've used that brush with Harris's Lavender without this kind of dramatic effect. Now, some, like Mr. Bargepole, have claimed that they used this cream for years with no problems of this sort, so water must be a factor in the equation. But if you have the slightest suspicion that you might have this issue, use a darker bristled brush!
