Sunday

headed to Cincinnati today to attend a friend's baby shower with my wife. Our friend is Indian and my wife will wear a traditional saree during what is known as a Godh bharai. I'm looking forward to the festivities and the traditional Indian food. Our friend's father will receive some traditional shaving soap from myself as a gift to him. He has always been fascinated with how I shave with a straight razor. Believe it or not, he most desires a ARKO shave stick because it reminded him of the street barbers in India.

Enjoy the trip, Chris!

Shavemac 167 Finest 22/48 fan
Homemade soap - the rice bran oil batch*
Gillette Red Tip w/Iridium blade
Lucido aftershave splash
Homemade citrus chypre edt**

*rice bran oil is supposed to be the veggie lanolin alternative. Well, maybe, but the impact on lather is noticeable and not positive. Still okay soap, but nothing I'll want to use again given the options I have

**Top notes: lemon, bergamot, herbaceous notes
Heart notes: lavender, rosewood, petitgrain
Base notes: vetiver, labdanum, moss, musk

Sunday, June 9th

Razor: Schick Injector
Blade: Schick
Brush: Vie-Long Beehive (silvertip)
Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Cream: TFS Zagara Mediterranea
Scuttle: TSN Bill Bowl
A/S: Taylor Victorian Limes

The TFS shave creams arrived yesterday afternoon and I just had to sample one. The cream is very dense (especially for a tubed cream) and a small amount of cream produced a ton of lather. I am at a loss describing the scent other than there is a hint of citrus. The overall scent is actually more earthy than fruity and it is very pleasant. I enjoyed a great shave.
