Re: SOTD: June 17 thru June 23, 2013
Good afternoon. Thursday AM:
Jaggerooney w/Dorco 301, #1
Alibaba, medium
TR Beck Coconut soap
Thayer's Lavender witch hazel
Fitjar Neroli A/S Balm
Alpa Fouguere EDC
The shave felt rough today. I assume this is due to the blade- every now and then I find a stunky blade from Dorco. Tomorrow I will shave with some TOBS as a check. Very pleasant coconut scent on the soap.

Prep Neutrogena Soap
Razor Cobra, with Kai Captain Mild (8th and maybe the last shave w/this blade)
Soap AOS, Lavender, tallow
Brush Boar in customized handle
Post Shave Thai Crystal Deo
Lucky Tiger Hair Tonic, w/oil
Pinaud Clubman A/S
Clinique Post-Shave Healer
Yardley Rose Talc (clashed with the Clubman, which clashes with the Lucky Tiger, which.... but what the heck!).
Weird shave, didn't feel all that great during the shave, but 2 1/2 passes resulted in a DFS nonetheless;
not a cut, nick, or scrape, even on my much abused chin or upper lip.
Maybe I'll change out the Kai for the next go round.
The tallow AOS will be missed when it's gone. The "clay" odor either doesn't hit my nose or it simply is
totally inoffensive. The lavender scent is soooo subtle as to be not there at all
P.S. The jaw line, midway between the ear and chin, continues to require a lot of extra effort.
I go WTG, XTG, and ATG and it still is the least satisfactory part of my shave!
Any suggestions??
jr/John

-- Friday--
Prep: hot water wash with hand soap
Razor: RazoRock OC head with Ikon bulldog handle
Blade: Polsilver SI (2)
Brush: Stanlley Home products restored with Omega boar from TGN
Soap: Proraso white tub
Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery G5 in Hamada glaze
Post: Thai Crystal deodorant stick and Thayers Witch Hazel with Aloe
Result: BBS on face and neck in 3.5 passes. What a shave! Simply wonderful. Close, comfortable and no skin damage whatsoever. RR OC is the most aggressive DE I got (except for Progress that can go more aggressive, I guess, but I never pushed it beyond 4), but I am eagerly awaiting 2013 Muhle R41 to step it up a notch.
