-- Thursday--

Prep: hot water wash with hand soap
Razor: Merkur Progress set to 4-ish
Blade: Feather Hi-Stainless (3)
Brush: Semogue 1800
Soap: Proraso white tub (new formulation)
Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery G5 in Hamada glaze
Post: Thai Crystal deodorant stick and Thayers Witch Hazel with Aloe

Result: BBS in 3+ passes. Second shave with the 1800 and I am beginning to figure this brush out. At least in its current state of not fully broken in, it is holding a bit less water and I need to not shake it so much before loading soap. Today I got a little more water than necessary, but I am dialing it in. Next time it will be perfect. Still, a great lather and a great brush!

1921 Gillette Tuckaway
Feather blade
Simpson Case C1 brush
Castle Forbes Cedarwood & Sandalwood shaving cream

Great shave.

Decided on a slight switch to the technique and held the razor so that the blade was angled more away from the skin. A patchy, uneven shave was expected and, instead, got a very nice shave and no burn. Usually, with a Tuckaway, the neck would be kind of raw and itchy by day four. So, a slight shift in technique seems to be the answer to the on-going question of "Why don't you like me Tuckaway?" :)
