Good Day, Gentlemen
Wednesday, July 24, 2013
Pre: QED French Clay bar soap
Razor : Cobra Classic w/Kai Mild (1)
Soap: Haslinger Calendula Soap, with DRH Lavender shave stick for jawline touch-up
Brush: Omega Boar 81569
Styptic: Thai Crystal Deodorant as a styptic
Shampoo: Liggett shampoo bar and vinegar rinse
Post: Clubman AS
Clinique Post Shave Healer
Clubman (not so) White Talc, all over, including underarms
Anti-p/Deo: none today

DFS+ shave, with 21/2 passes. A bit of jawline problem, despite the DHS shave stick touch-up, but certainly acceptable
Probably a bit too cautious with the new blade in the Cobra. Easy to build lather perhaps needed a tad more water, but like this soap.
The Omega brush, purchased from QED, is a fine addition to the repertoire; works well with soap and held enough lather for 21/2
passes plus at least 1-2 more!
Nice shave to start a beautiful hot day on the Cape. Hope all of you enjoy your SMF day!!!

Enjoying wet shaving, again.

-- Wednesday--

Prep: hot water wash with hand soap
Razor: 1922 Gillette Big Fellow (NI head) with a shim
Blade: Feather Hi-Stainless (2)
Brush: B&B Essentials Boar (by Omega)
Soap: Proraso white tub
Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery G5 in Hamada glaze
Post: Thai Crystal deodorant stick and Thayers Witch Hazel with Aloe

Result: BBS in 3+ passes. Great Shave. Everything worked in concert with each other. B&B Essentials Boar is an awesome brush. Rivals most badgers.

Early Thursday

Black Handled Adjustable
Personna Med Prep (12)
TOBS Grapefruit Cream (plus pure glycerin)
Col. Conk Badger
Pre: Acure Conditioner
Post: Just cold water....

I opened this razor up to 8 on the dial, it gives a helluva shave at this setting.....
what saves my face from a disaster is this hair conditioner. When it combines with the cream on the brush,
it really gets thick and gelatinous.... good solid protection...
For obtaining this many shaves off one blade and at this aggressive setting, it is really all about prep and going rather slowly, otherwise uhhh, well, you know what I mean....... I'll probably only try one more shave.. with the blade.(the 13th might be "lucky" this time)...

Thursday Night:

Razor: Mergress (set at mildest)
Blade: Personna Hospital Use

Brush: Semogue 740 (pure badger)
Soap: Martin de Candre ("unscented")

Lather made in a bowl, as always.
2 1/2 passes.

Cold water rinse.

I have left this Martin de Candre Unscented with the lid off long enough that it truly was unscented tonight. I'm sure that if I use it frequently, I will wear it down to where the unpleasant odor/fragrance resides, so I will save it for occasional use.
