-- Friday--

Prep: hot water wash with hand soap
Razor: Fatip Piccolo
Blade: Personna Super (lab) (4)
Brush: My handmade brush with a TGN two band finest
Soap: Savon du Midi Orient
Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery G5 in Hamada glaze
Post: Thai Crystal deodorant stick and Thayers Witch Hazel with Aloe

Result: BBS in 3+ passes. Great Shave. Fatip is a pretty awesome razor. Savon du Midi is loosing appeal for me, but I do like its scent. It seems a bit airy no matter how much I load it it. It still works well, just not as creamy as my usual favorite Italian style soft soaps and Palmolive stick, etc. I still got a great shave with it, so all is well.

Friday, afternoon

Prep: Clinique Skin Supplies for Men Liquid Face Wash, extra-strength
Razor: E J Jagger D89, with unidentified blade
Soap: Mystic Waters sensitive skin shave soap
Brush: Omega Boar 81569
Post: Clubman A/S
Clinique Post Shave Healer
Clubman Talc, face and body dusted
Well, Kingfisher, please take note: I sprung for the MW soap, mostly to amortize shipping costs for a shampoo bar
and her Hair Oil, which I wanted to try. First blush???: Largely UNimpressed. Probably not fair to change TWO variables
at the same time (substituting the D89 for the Cobra Classic, and trying a brand new shave soap with a boar brush).
Nonetheless, the MW soap looks like it wants to be a fussy latherer; instructions for lathering WERE included but, at my
age, re-learning basic shave techniques may be asking too much. I will give this product more time, as it has been highly
praised by several trusted SMF members.
Anyway, barely a DFS shave with 3 full passes, but it should get me through tomorrow morning's early appointment.
All the best1

Gillette Model #58 & Schick Platinum blade
Simpson E3 ( vintage )
Trumpers Violet shave cream
D R Harris's Pink A/S
Floris No 89

Both the shave cream and the cologne were reformulated several years back. Neither are as pleasing as they were but I still like them both well enough to use them; they are similiar enough to their predessesors, IMO, that I don't feel compelled to reject them entirely. I would not, however, pay full retail price for the Floris No 89 in it's current form although I did, willingly, for the earlier version.
Regards,
Gordon

Saturday:

Cobra Classic
Kai Titan Mild blade
Thater 4125/1 two band fan
TOBS Coconut cream
RazoRock KL A/S wax
T&H Grafton

Max

Still getting to know the Cobra. It does such a wonderful job...but so quickly. I am finding two north to south passes and touch up is all that's needed for a bbs. It's really growing on me and I was strictly a DE shaver for years up to this point. Enjoy the weekend.

I started a new puck of MB Sandalwood and I'm not liking it as much. I wonder if that formula changed at all.
