Friday Morning
Pre: QED French Clay bar soap
Soap: AOS Lavender Shave Soap, tallow
Brush: Omega 81569 Boar
Razor: Gem (metal) G Bar with Gem Stainless, PTFE (5)
Post: Clubman A/s
Clinique Post Shave Healer
The recent thread about older vs. new AOS formulations prompted the selection of the tallow AOS, and
it wasn't a disappointment... lots of rich, creamy lather for the 3 passes needed for a DFS+++ shave.
Continuing my recent infatuation with SE's, the Gem G Bar seemed a good choice...a nice, nick- and
irritation-free close shave, but it took 3, vs. my accustomed 2 1/2 passes, to get there.
Easy to feel like a newbie as every shave is a fresh beginning; new techniques and different shave
product choices lend an air of freshness and rejuvenate a regular routine. Can't get any better?? On
the contrary, even when it's not so good, it does get better!

Saturday - I shouldn't have shaved because it's Yom Kippur, but I just cannot go without a shave.

L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash
#6 Horsehair
Super Speed/Shark day 6
Gillette Menthol SC
Visal AS Gel
Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS

Nice and smooth as well as frigidly-cold this morning would be the best way to describe this shave. The Gillette Menthol cream has officially earned the Cracky Wacky Ticky Tacky Freeze award from me because it felt so cold while I was lathering up. The Visal gel and the Aqua Velva are two top-favorites of mine. I wish the Visal was available here in Canada, but unfortunately it's not.

-- Saturday--

Prep: hot water wash with hand soap
Razor: RazoRock Little Bastone
Blade: Merkur (4)
Brush: Fuller clear handle restored with Omega boar from TGN
Soap: PannaCrema Namaste
Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery G5 in Hamada glaze
Post: Thai Crystal deodorant stick and Thayers Witch Hazel with Aloe

Result: BBS in 3+ passes. Just perfect shave with a super BBS result. No irritation and no blood. This is my first shave ever with PannaCrema. Excellent soap! Namaste is a scent that I am not be super crazy about, but as it sits on me after the shave it is growing on me and is actually quite pleasant. Just not something I would jump on if I smelled it before getting it. The soap properties are outstanding. The lather is rich and satisfying.

RazoRock (Cadet) OC heads are super-awesome shavers. I wish these got more love on the forums, but since they are inexpensive people do not pay attention to them. They are some of the best OC heads out there. I have not tried their safety bar head because I have a Progress and that's pretty much the end of the road for SB DEs for me, but these OC heads from India is excellent and worth a try.

Saturday Morning
Clear warm day; much cooler and a lot less humid than the previous three
Pre: QED French Clay Bar Soap
Shave Soap: MWF
Brush: Somerset Simpson PL8
Razor: (1) Gem MM Clog Pruf... (2) Gem ShovelBack, both using a Gem SS, PTFE (6)
Thai Crystal Deo used post-shave as an alum stick
Shower: Basis and MWF soaps
Mystic Waters shampoo bar and vinegar rinse
Post: Clubman A/S
Clinique Post Shave Healer
Mystic Waters Hair Oil
RazoRock alum stick used as a deodorant
Weird shave...all the right stuff but nothing seemed to want to work together. Even changed razors after the first of
3 passes needed for a DFS (just). It was an irritation-free effort, however, with just 2 tiny weepers, which were easily
handled with a quick swipe of the Thai Crystal Stick deo.
Oh, well, tomorrow will be another day, and another opportunity to improve my efforts
