Sunday:

L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash
#6 Horsehair
Dovo Bismarck 5/8
Arko Moist SC
Natural Products AS Balm

Once again I re-visited a cream which has been lying around for a couple of years, but I didn't really enjoy it too much. The Arko Moist lathers very well like all its "brothers" but it gives only a slight cooling effect, and the scent is not to my satisfaction. On top of that, it lacks in skincare but the Natural Products balm delivered very well on that aspect. The shave itself was excellent - two passes got rid of my tough beard stubble and I turned out as BBS as I could ask for.

Late Sunday P.M.
Pre: QED French Clay Bar soap
Razor: Gem 1912, with Gem SE SS PTFE (1)
Shave Soap: AOS Lavender , tallow
Brush: QED Saville Row 22mm Silvertip
Post Shave: Alum deo as aftershave rub
Clubman A/S
Clinique Post Shave Healer
Amazing that after a mere 1 1/2 passes this combo delivered something remarkably close to a DFS.
It took another pass and more than a little blade buffing on the chin and extra work along the jawline
to produce the great, smooth, and totally weeper-free shave hoped for. A relatively minor complaint
might be that the SR Brush didn't want to hold, then give up a tremendous lather burst.
The chosen hardware and software, some old, some new, was a delight to use!

Ron,
to tell you the truth it never happened before with this brush either. I love the brush especially
its nice 'backbone, which is a plus as I am a soap user.
Tonight's shave I may not have used enough water, so that while the lather was certainly rich
(always the case with AOS), maybe there wasn't enough of it and the brush kept its share, leaving
me with the impression it was overly greedy.
When the brush was rinsed out, though, there seemed to be plenty of lather.
As a result of your comment and tonight's experience, I will use both the AOS and SR on my
very next shave but perhaps using a bit more water. Let's see if this was simply an aberration
(as I think/hope), or I need a different technique; the brush just recently found its way back
into my rotation, having vacationed in a misplaced moving box for over a year.
