Wednesday Morning
PRE: QED French Clay bar soap
SOAP: AOS Lavender , tallow
BRUSH: Saville Row 22mm silvertip
RAZOR; Gem 1912, with Gem SS PTFE(2)
POST: Crystal deo as alum rub
Clubman A/S
Clinique Post Shave Healer
Repeated my last shave setup to determine if my sense that the SR silvertip was a lather hog was correct.
This time a bit more water was used with AOS and the results were different and a lot better.... the brush
captured a lot of rich slick lather, but easily surrendered it as needed for a 2 1/2 pass DFS.
No nicks or weepers, even though I aggressively attacked the jawline and chin on that last 1/2 pass.
Can't imagine a better, closer or more comfortable result...
jr/John
p.s. Murray, does shaving as a retiree differ much? My expectations as to closeness and comfort haven't
changed and the extra 5-10 minutes spent on my shaves have yielded some great experiences !
Good Luck and Enjoy!

-- Wednesday--
Prep: hot water wash with hand soap
Razor: Frankenrazor made of Fatip base plate, Hallmark top plate and Ikon Bulldog handle
Blade: Perma-Sharp Super (5)
Brush: Ever-Ready 650PB restored with TGN two band finest
Soap: PannaCrema Namaste
Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery G5 in Hamada glaze
Post: Thai Crystal deodorant stick and Thayers Witch Hazel with Aloe
Result: BBS in 3+ passes. Wow! After shaving with SC 101 for the past four shaves I felt Perma-Sharp (4) was not all that great, but loading it into a Fatip/Hallmark combo yielded a better shave than any of the SC 101 shaves. Super close and comfortable.
I think I may have to finish my sample of Panna Crema before I stop using it. Simply one of the best soaps I tried! Well, I got some Stirling coming for the next shave and will try that, for sure.
