Razor: EverReady 1914; Little Lather Catcher
Blade: GEM PTFE
Brush: Alibaba "Bruiser" Black Fibre
Soap: Cella
AS: Krampert's Finest Bay Rum

Image

I am very pleased to have picked up the '14 LLC yesterday. The shave this morning was mild yet efficient all the while sounding like buttering toast. This razor is perfect for us audiophiles that love hearing the whiskers being cut. I was expecting it to remind me of the 1912s I've used but it seemed to perform better. I may just have to dig out a 1912 soon to compare. Maybe I've just gotten better at using them.

Another possible explanation is that I've been experimenting with a new sequence of passes for my routine and it has been working swell; so far regardless of razor. Next up to test it is the Streamline.

The RV Alibaba Black Fibre has now earned its nickname I believe; Bruiser. I forget who suggested it but thank you. Now that I see how a 5mm decrease in loft affects these synthetic fibres I know that I wouldn't go any lower personally. Still a very, very soft knot at the tips, the backbone has gone up incredibly. No soap stands a chance against Bruiser, yet Bruiser is still quite nice on the face.

Oh yeah...

CELLA!

Streamy Synth Sunday

• Razor: EverReady Streamline
• Blade: GEM PTFE (1)
• Brush: Alibaba Black Fibre, "Bruiser"
• Soap: P.160
• AS: Krampert's Finest Acadian Spice Bay Rum

Image

I am happy to report that the new routine for my passes is going very well. I was able to get a tough spot under my chin with the Streamline today that normally is missed. I always blamed the solid guard bar because the OCMM gets this spot regardless of how I come at it.

The RV Alibaba BF is a face lathering machine at a true loft of 50mm. He truly is Da Bruzah! He tears up the soap easily while feeling luxuriously soft on the face. P.160 doesn't have as intoxicating a scent as Cella does, but it sure does work a treat. Dense, slick, and moisturizing. My face feels super smooth and soft after finishing with the KFBR.

Definitely ready for a Super Sunday!
