Sunday, November 3
PRE: QED Red French Clay Soap
BRUSH: Omega Boar 81569
SOAP: MWF
RAZOR: GEM MM Clog Pruf, with GEM PTFE SS blade (2)
POST: Clubman styptic powder
Clubman A/S
Clinique for Men Post Shave Healer
Strangely unsatisfying but close shave. The Omega brush/MWF combo just didn't work up the kind of lather to which
I am accustomed. 2 1/2 passes netted a couple of nicks and weepers, and the Clog Pruf once again proved to be a
noisy and aggressive little weapon, at least compared to its GEM brothers.
Tomorrow will afford another chance to redeem my choices and their efficacy.

Prep: hot water wash with Stirling bath soap
Razor: RazoRock/Cadet OC head on top of Ikon Bulldog handle
Blade: Shark SS (2)
Brush: Simpson Case
Soap: Stirling Lavender and Sage/Cella
Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery G5 in Hamada glaze
Post: Thai Crystal deodorant stick and Thayers Witch Hazel with Aloe

Result: BBS in 3+ passes. I was having trouble with Stirling lather today. Just did not slick up for me all that well. So frustrated was I by pass 3, I reached for my trusty tub of Cella and worked my brush loaded with Stirling in that. Wow! What a difference. I am not sure what's going on with my sample of Stirling, but adding Cella to it (only a few swirls on the tub) has transformed my shave. The slickness and cushion of Cella are amazing as we all know. Sometimes I am not sure why I bother with other soaps, but Stirling smells so good! Not that I hate Cella scent, but I am so used to it that I like a change now and again. Anyway, Good shave, but some razor burn (not bad) and just that frustrated feeling of razor not gliding all that well for the first two passes.

Prep: hot water wash with Stirling bath soap
Razor: Frankenrazor made of Hallmark top plate, Fatip base plate and Ikon Bulldog handle
Blade: SuperMax Titanium (1)
Brush: Home made exotic wood handle with TGN two band Finest
Soap: Mike's Barbershop
Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery G5 in Hamada glaze
Post: Thai Crystal deodorant stick and Thayers Witch Hazel with Aloe

Result: BBS in 3+ passes. What a great shave! Mike's soap is amazing. I've been really trying to love Stirling, but Mike's is heads and shoulders better in shave qualities. The lather was simply perfect. Slick, protective and smells great. I got the all important "this soap smells good, kinda manly" from my lovely wife as she wandered into my den during the shave. I think I will go back to RR/Cadet OC next shave and keep everything else the same. I think the Frankie I created is a tad too mild and made me go over places more than once.
